Your Natal Chart Is Perfect Unless It Isn’t: What’s It For You?

Your natal chart is PERFECT; however, you have to ‘work with it / yourself’ and not against. If you don’t, it’s NOT perfect. Change needed. – Abella Arthur

I was having a discussion with a client yesterday about how their son’s chart is perfect if he understands, accepts, and works with energy that isn’t easily tolerated by most other people.

The son has a difficult Mercury placement and his Mercury is in Virgo, like me — same degree even.  I totally understand ethics, authenticity, and the truth.  Also, about doing the right thing but her son is quite forceful (Pluto) about communication (Mercury) and it causes friction (square) with friends (Pluto in the 11th).

At one point her son said something about a shady practice he saw other students engage in (Pluto in the 11th) and told the Principal about it.  The backlash from the other kids was immense once they found out what they were going to lose because of it. This in turn has caused great distress for her son and I was called upon to help sort through it.

I said to my client:  If he can do the right thing and live with the consequences of others’ not being happy with that, then it’s all good.  He can channel that square into a trine and be in harmony with assertively doing the right thing no matter the likely negative backlash (an activist, judge, and other career types would fight over what my client’s son has because it’s powerful and unsettling to his opponents and oh so true and progressive — Mercury-Uranus contact too).  He must also think before he speaks.  Weigh the outcome and really look at all the people who will be affected by the unbridled truth.

But if he takes it to heart and gets upset about it, he has a couple of choices:  1. Find other people like him and spend time in places that suit his temperament.  Join the Debate Club, Mensa Club, Young Lawyers Club, etc. and channel that energy into areas that welcome that kind of friction while steering clear from the ‘norms’ or 2. Work with Saturn’s people.  Work with the Earth.  Do the right thing, socially — rather than the right thing, ethically or authentically.

So learn to get along with yourself or learn to get along with others or maybe go Libra style — and do a little of both. :-D

Link: Scratching An Itch at LearnTarot.com

When I want to expand my tarot thoughts, and I’m not interested in doing TarotSeek or I’m not putting my heart into it, there’s two websites that really scratch the tarot meaning itch of “What does that card mean?” when I’m too close to the subject.

One of those websites is Rider-Waite focused and it’s called LearnTarot.com by Joan Bunning.

It’s the first major tarot website I found when I got on the Internet in 1996 and it gave me a lot to chew on — I was impressed from the get-go. But I’ve never gone through the website in its entirety nor taken the course (I ought to, huh?!) but it’s like a homecooked meal for me.

Today I asked the question:  How will X react to my letter?  And I got the King of Swords.  (When I did TarotSeek, I got the judgement card!)…

The letter was about a complaint and I was attempting to be neutral in this letter.  I was explaining why things went wrong and was trying to find common ground and understanding between two parties.  I didn’t want to offend the client but I also believed the other party as well.  We all did our best, though we could learn from what didn’t go well.  It was a touchy letter, for sure, because it didn’t absolve the client from responsibility nor did I want them to feel blamed. Sheat happens!!  Anyway, I hope tarot is true and it’s taken well.  Crossing my fingers!!

If it does, I owe it to Jupiter Libra in the 9th.  I could have been an impartial lawyer or judge and this card illustrates that as one possible career choice (Libra rules / is the King of Swords).

The personality of the King of Swords is a combination of the positive air energy of the Swords suit and the active, outward focus of a King. He is a man of intellect who can absorb and work with information of all kinds. As a master of reason and logic, he analyzes any problem with ease. He can work out solutions quickly and explain them lucidly to others. In a chaotic situation, he cuts through the confusion and provides the clarity needed to move forward. Others seek him out to present their case as he speaks with eloquence and insight. He is always truthful and can be relied on to handle any situation fairly and honorably. When a judgment is called for, he can render an impartial but just decision. He is incorruptible and lives by the highest ethical standards. He encourages those around him to do the same, and they often live up to his expectations.

In readings, the King of Swords asks you to take the kinds of actions he might take. For example: telling the truth, thinking up a solution, communicating well, or judging fairly. This King can also represent a man or woman who is acting as he does, or an atmosphere of reason, honesty and high standards. In a reading, he tells you that his special energy has meaning for you at this time. Let yourself be inspired by this King in whatever form he appears in your life.

Skeptics and Believers: Enjoying Summer Astro Fun With Family

Well, there’s a reason I missed New Orlean’s UAC 2012 and that’s an unexpected Uranian visit from my sister from out west whom I haven’t seen in years!

Interestingly, Uranus was at 7° Aries and landed just outside my 3rd house that begins at 9° Aries so that 2° orb is interesting because the 3rd house represents siblings and as I’ve mentioned it was a ‘surprise visit’.  She had driven to my city from out west and didn’t give us an arrival time! And when I say that, I mean she didn’t tell us even ‘what week’ she’d be arriving.  LOL

So Uranus conjunct 3rd house, in my case, meant:  Sudden visit from sibling, by car! :-D

It is also conjunct Chiron and it was a surprisingly and shockingly ‘healing’ visit as well.  She felt like a stable element in my life that I had been missing.  Then again, she’s a sweet Taurus!

Back to Uranus Conjunct Chiron, I’ll also be doing some much needed ‘talk therapy’ in the area (will be doing some short travel, for my meetings, with my bike) and I really hope I’ll get some sudden insights that heal . Of course, it can also indicate sudden or shocking wounds.  Let me channel the positive though.

Also, Saturn is transiting my 9th house and that’s what kept me at home.  Boo re: UAC but yay for my sister visiting.

Tonight we had a family, extended family, and friends get together.  I ended up reading for everyone on an iPad (not mine!!) unexpectedly and is often the case, everyone volleyed to be read except the two Capricorn’s (lol — too proud and proper, I suppose — I’ll read them another time when it’s more ‘private’) and a skeptical Cancer that was ‘drilling’ me later on.

Anyway, the Cancer was asking me questions that would of had me teaching him astrology, while questioning and subtly disrespecting it.  LOL … Pretty normal but also annoying to this passionate astrologer.  Then he said something about reading his daughter at a next event and that it would be fun (I guess, for him) because I don’t like reading for people that are testing and judging my work with a ‘fail’ or ‘what can you get’ slant.  That’s no fun for me, though I know that’s fun for some of my colleagues.

So I said he’d have to pay me to do it. LOL  He even said at one point about an experience with a psychic and testing them: “You’re the psychic, you tell me”. *eye roll* But I’m not THAT kind of psychic.  I’m not the “dance for me psychic, dance” puppet on a string kind of psychic. LOL I’m a consultant who has knowledge, awareness, compassion, and connection.

For the hundredth time:

“No, I’m not a stereotypical psychic.  No, I don’t have a store front reading parlour.  No, I don’t have a 1800 number.  No, I don’t cold read (I read over the phone!), No, I’m not a psychic without tools.  No, I’m not a police psychic.” Can I be all those things?! Yes, I can.  But only in small doses and as a choice — not a given.

What I would like is to receive questions from someone who respects me even if they don’t respect what I do. And I did get those kinds of questions from some of my family, which I greatly appreciate.

And even though my astrology says that I should back-down from such ‘interviews’, it’s so very hard NOT to engage because I don’t want them polluting the minds of my loved ones with fancy thoughts about what it is that I do.  Hmpf!

Anyway, I LOVE how I get to know people through astrology.  Once we get into their chart, they just open up and I get to see another side to them that they were not showing previously.  It’s a wonderful way to connect more deeply with loved ones and new friends.

Also, I love when people say:  How do you know what that says?  And I tell them, it’s a language — takes years to learn. ;-D

It’s just really nice to know such an obscure symbolic language.  Cool factor = high!

And it was really nice for one of my family members to say:  I didn’t get why you got into all of this but now I know why (as in, You can really make a difference in people’s lives and that must feel great!! Yay).

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Until next time… Much love,

Jucy

p.s. Have Mercury Conjunct Jupiter? You probably LOVE reading.  Also, you could be an author if you have the grits for it. If you don’t, you’ll find yourself sinking right into storylines and making up one’s up as you go along (ie, different endings, etc.).  Mercury Scorpio Conjunct Jupiter = Love of mystery novels and true crime stories.

My *Sale* is Extended until Tuesday May 29th, 2012.

My *Sale* is Extended until Tuesday May 29th, 2012.

I probably won’t have a ‘social friends’ sale again so get it while it’s at a hot and happy price point. :D

First sessions are always going to be more expensive than when you become a client and we meet once or more times in the year.  It’s currently set at an intake fee of $139 but that will only go up as I gain more experience and knowledge.  Right now, you can get your first session around the price of a regular client.  And after you get my ‘first session’ at this price, I’ll put you on my ‘client list’ and they’re all enjoying 50% off ‘client rates’!!! So it’s in the $50-60 range… It pays to be a client; don’t delay and make your payment.

You can choose from The Kitchen Sink (astrology, numerology, tarot, psychic, etc.) or Astrology (natal, synastry, progressions, solar returns, etc.)

If you already know too much about astrology and are looking for complex answers from me (that you haven’t found elsewhere), focus on The Kitchen Sink (of which half or more is tarot).  If you know more about tarot and hardly anything about astrology, choose an astrology consultation.

If you’re at an intermediate to advanced level for both, you probably won’t get much more out of me but I’ll confirm what you already know to be true and may surprise you (may!).  I’m at an advanced professional level with mastery in bits and pieces, but I’m not a Master Astrologer or Master Tarot Reader. Give me another 10 years, or not.

P.s. I’m not here to perform the extraordinary (only that one *big guy in the sky can) even if my readings and consultations are out of this world. :P

Robert Moog (Gemini Sun) – Google celebrates his musical achievements

Go to Google and play some music, Gemini style! How do I know it’s a Gemini instrument?  Robert Moog (the developer) is a Gemini and my ex-boyfriend is a musician (and also a Gemini) and he used synthesizers extensively in his music.  I imagine it’s the sound waves that are of great interest — how sound can communicate feeling, or something like that.

Describing the Effects of Algol by Astrologer Michael Wolfstar

I was looking for some thoughts about “Juno Conjunct Algol” (didn’t find any) and came across this well-written article by astrologer Michael Wolfstar. He’s been able to express Algol in a way that many other astrologers have not.

Here’s an excerpt:

In traditional astrology, Algol is associated with violence, death, alcoholism, and losing one’s head, both physically and metaphorically, as in going insane. In modern times, astrologers see Algol as the carrier for the collective rage of suppressed female power. Maria Shriver announced her separation from the Governator last week, and this event helps illustrate how Algol works in practice. – Michael Wolfstar

By the way,  I believe “Algol Conjunct Juno” relates to having a partnership ended through abuse (Juno = marriage, partnership, tough love), an abusive marriage, or severe disrespect of dominant female energy in a partnership.

Michael Wolfstar can also be found at Neptune Cafe serving up some delicious mundane astrology (world news, events, celebrity readings) and teaching cosmic tidbits (such as asteroids) here and there.  I think professional and advanced astrologers can appreciate his work.

The Frustations of an Astrologer: Knowing The Future May Not Matter Much For Them

As an astrologer, tarot reader, and numerologist, I have access to insights into the future.

And while these future insights can do wonders in my personal life, it won’t do much if friends and loved ones don’t have the same kind of insight, belief, interest, or take as much seriousness as to what will happen, as I do.

If you’re an occultist, do you find this to be the case for you too?  If not, how do you overcome it?

Because of this, a challenging or difficult future event is likely to remain that way since I can only control myself and what I do. So it doesn’t matter that I know about what will happen between myself and another because the other person (in addition to myself) would need to take action to create a better outcome.

You may be saying: Well, at least you can pull yourself out of the future event when you know early!

And I have this to say about that:
I don’t know ALL future events that will happen to me. I go along with life, and when things aren’t going well (in the now) I go check out my transits and progressions and see what’s up so it may be too late. And I might check out when BIG transits are happening or look at my solar returns a couple of years ahead but I don’t really dig deep until I’m in the thick of something and know what I’m looking for (there’s just so much to look at!!).

Even when I am finally clued in, other future events are on the horizon. And there may not be enough time to extricate myself from a situation AND there’s no 100% guarantee that a specific incident could happen in the way I’m imagining it (many ways to read something) and I could burn a connection with someone for no good reason or keep one, when I should have let it go.

And the universe may want me to experience the situation anyway and come up with something else if I try to evade it so…

In the end, it sucks to know things that others don’t or don’t want to know because the work to change an outcome is too challenging for them and they’d rather let life lead them instead of leading their life. Bah!

Do you Saturnize Yourself? Does Someone Saturnize You? (Saturn Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius)

Saturn is about (amongst other things) restrictions, limitations, karma, tests, weight, obstacles, goals, maturity, age, what is old (like old news), etc.

Taurus is about (amongst other things) growth, fine food and drink, stability, security, resources, structures, building, love, sensuality, what is valued, finances, stocks, bonds, and saving accounts.

I have Saturn Taurus and if you clicked on that link I don’t have all those problems though the delineation is quite good!

I believe that all problems are solved in time. So an immature Saturn in Taurus may exhibit some of that cookbook delineation but a mature Saturn in Taurus (whose learned a lot of lessons) will not.  Also, there’s something to be said about going from being uneducated to educated.  Once you know what’s happening and why, you can do things to make positive changes in your life.

With my Saturn in Taurus, I’ve been working with  limited financial resources and I find it takes forever to get what I want, to be stable and secure.

But it doesn’t have to take forever, and I don’t have to be limited. I can budget, ask where I can get resources for less, and plan for my future.  I’ve done that but I haven’t done it consistently and that’s a problem for Saturn.  Saturn likes to see consistency over a long period of time.  The facts, the actual deeds done, are the proof Saturn needs in order to give you the unlimited, Jupiterian gifts of that sign. So eventually I’ll be wealthy, have incredible security, and safety when I get with the F-ing program! But it’s a full course load….

Saturn Taurus (April 30, 1969 to June 18, 1971, June 12, 1972 to February 21, 1972, June 10, 1998 to October 25, 1998, March 1, 1999 to August 9, 2000, October 17, 2000 to April 20, 2001) means lessons around setting up structures that limit resources (such as a budget), responsibilities and investments in love, being tested through being uprooted (can you find your solid ground again?!), delayed gratification (be patient), finding your voice (for me, singing and other things!), responsible predictions, etc.

And I’ve found one can master their lessons and gain access to the vault of gifts, through age and maturity and/or through logic (Aquarius being the co-ruled sign of Saturn) and knowledge.

I wasn’t supposed to be born with a silver spoon in my mouth as it relates to Taurean themes.  I have to work for everything I get, even when it seems that I didn’t.  But if I did have everything handed to me on a silver platter, I probably wouldn’t have been able to appreciate and respect Taurean gifts.  So whatever sign Saturn is in is where you possess incredible power and giftedness BUT you have to earn it.  It has to be respected, appreciated, and handled with care.

So what sign is Saturn in for you?

Oh this got VERY LONG again… LOL
Well, I’ve started it so let me keep going on for just a bit more…

Here’s a little astrological story…

I have my Saturn in Taurus. My friend has their Saturn in Leo. I have a Saturn ruled chart and Saturn (as a planet) rises first and before my Sun.

I find that my friend suppresses or discourages my spending and I discourage their constant desire to play.  They’ve felt restricted, but so have I.  What would work for us (and has) is that I discipline my spending with their support rather than them acting as my parent.  But that means it’s helpful when I come to them with ideas on how to save or spend wisely or when they question me about my spending (do you really need that?!) in a non-condescending way and with my permission. And if they choose to work before playing and take more responsibility in their commitments, I won’t have the desire to curb their playtime. Instead I’ll support and encourage how they restrict and free themselves.

I’m a Leo Sun-Mars and they have Jupiter Taurus! There’s so much intertwined here with the Leo-Taurus thing but not enough time or joy in writing about it.  Talking about it in live conversation? Yes, there’s joy in that and my friend and I have already done that so I’m sharing here some juicy bits and insights found in that conversation.

Saturn Leo (September 18, 1975 to January 14, 1976, June 6, 1976 to November 17, 1977, January 6, 1978 to July 26, 1978, July 17, 2005 to September 2, 2007) comes with lessons around disciplining playtime; responsible leadership and control; limiting creativity; suppressing child-like wonder (the old and wise child missing out on innocence); earning entitlements, affection, and appreciation over time; controlling the ego and sense of power over others; subdued passions; releasing pride, vanity, dogma, and intolerance.

Some More Sample Delineations

Since Scorpio and Aquarius is opposite Taurus and Leo (and they are all fixed signs) I’ll do a short delineation below:

Saturn Scorpio (November 30, 1982 to May 6, 1983,August 25, 1983 to November 17, 1985,October 6, 2012 to December 23, 2014, June 16, 2015 to September 17, 2015): Lessons around sexual responsibility, disciplined occult knowledge, limited control and domination of another and self,  secrets that test, longevity of sexual endurance (time), sexual immaturity to sexual maturity, delays in uncovering the truth, transforming with wisdom, dulled intensity, responsible possession, containing charm, etc..

Saturn Aquarius (February 7, 1991 to May 20, 1993, July 1, 1993 to January 28, 1994): Lessons around being responsible for humanity, disciplined sharing of innovations, limited scientific influence or knowledge, delays in humor (dead-pan humor), setting boundaries of distance, timed computing, structured genius, rebellion causing sorrow, etc..

Dates for other Saturn periods.

Sunday May 20 – Sun Enters Gemini, New Moon Gemini, Solar Eclipse, Aspects, & Venus Rx…!

Lots to celebrate, reflect upon, and think about with these upcoming celestial events.
Gemini and Libra are air signs and they like to talk it out, think it out, and express themselves assertively and with evenness.

Dates/Times

Sun Gemini 0° (exact on May 20th 11:16am EST), New Moon Gemini 0° (Exact on May 20th,7:05pm EST), Venus Gemini Rx 23°25, Saturn Libra 23°45 — Aspects: Sun Conjunct New Moon, Venus Rx Trine Saturn

A number of keywords for Gemini:  Changeable, love of variety and mental excitement, $20 words, a gift for the gab, writers and communicators, intelligent, flighty, fickle, two sides, the watchers and observers, song-writing, jingles, text messaging, telephoning, email, board (not bored) games, Scrabble!, Trivial Pursuit, siblings, neighbours, learning, discovering, taking it all in, quick, witty, versatile, mental gymnastics, trade and commerce, sales…

The Sun & Moon are overwhelmingly happy and content with each other today and the Sun will get eclipsed (Solar Eclipse).  I see this as the ego and self-interests being overshadowed and making way for the process of reconnecting and communicating with our emotional selves.  We want to get in touch, understand, know, and communicate our feelings to others and more importantly — to ourselves!

Through the Venus Rx-Saturn Trine, Venus is re-evaluating her mighty and long-lasting karmic commitments she’s made to her finances, beauty, self-esteem, love, friendships, and relationships.  She is taking a look at whether she wants to be further tested in these areas or make the final ascent to reach and end her old goals.  For the most part, she’s done with what’s went on in the past.

Now Saturn is in Libra and Libra is at home in Venus so Venus Rx Trine Saturn is an important aspect as it relates to Libran themes, issues, and opportunities.

Saturn Libra has been doing a dance since 2009 but it’s since July 2010 that we’ve all really noticed serious and very real restrictions in our partnerships, art, contracts, finances, etc..

Saturn Libra is helping Venus take a fair and balanced look at all this.

And Saturn enters Scorpio in October 2012 so Saturn has 4 more months to do its work in finalizing and marking the tests our relationships, art, money, beauty, etc. have had to endure for quite some time..

As well, Saturn Libra is in Trine with Venus Rx until roughly August 7th which is also around the time that Venus is completely out of the shadow period (July 31). So by the start of August, the majority of us will begin to have a solid footing on where we are going next in the Libran areas of our lives.

Yes, we will feel more comfort, at ease, and at home with ourselves, and our renewed and redone commitments.

That’s a relief because the last two years have been the most trying years of my life (in memory. LOL)

Which house will the Sun, New Moon, and Venus Rx in Gemini land in your chart? Where’s Libra? Have you ever done a New Moon ritual or intention?

Things you can do?  Send a message of love, send a package of joy, write out verbal hugs, express heartfelt thanks and gratitude. Name your feelings.  Meditate upon your relationship to yourself, money, beauty, art, etc..

By the way, Sunday is my FAVORITE day.

RIP Etta James

A Lecture is devoid of a conversation

A lecture is something that is devoid of a conversation.

What’s a conversation?  It’s when more than one person is exchanging ideas, thoughts, feelings, and/or impressions.

If you don’t want to be lectured at, speak up — ask questions, and make comments.  Don’t let the other person control what goes on unless you are enjoying the lecture.

If the person you are talking to doesn’t allow you to speak, speak to someone in the ‘help industry’ such as a crisis center, therapist, counselor, etc. so you can gain the tools and resources to assert yourself.

You never have to hear a lecture again unless you’ve agreed to such an arrangement!

Much love <3

Some Recent Astrogasm Search Terms & Replies :-)

These are recent search terms so I thought I’d say a few things about them. :-)

  • moon square Chiron 2 — Wounded feelings or wounding emotions.
  • moon square chiron transit 2 — See above.  This transit sucks. ;-)
  • venus in 9th house 2 — You have a love of higher knowledge, spirituality, equality, and art. And that’s what you can study.
  • gemini in the 6th house 2 jobs 1 — Gemini’s love variety and hate boredom.  Have Gemini in the 6th and yup, you will usually have more than 1 job.  And wherever you have Gemini, usually means you’ll have more than one of that thing.  Like I also have Gemini in the 5th and I have more than one hobby.  In fact, I have MANY.
  • synastry so much of oppositions 1 – Sorry to hear that.  It’s a challenge, for sure.  Good luck.
  • aquarius in the 7th house 1 — This one is a challenge too.  This is an independent, in relationships signature but at the same time, it’s hard to give freedom to your partner OR your partner wants ‘too much’ freedom (like you!)
  • saturn and venus conjunction astrology 1 — Long lasting love.  Being in love with the old.  ie. You can still love people 20 years down the road, as if it were yesterday.  That “in love” chemical never really dies with this aspect.
  • venus saturn friends 1 — Long lasting and loyal friends though with the square, the friendship may never really get off the ground and instead can hang in the background indefinitely.  Trines or sextiles are easier…
  • sextile signs 1 — Lots of opportunity and agitation.  It can be good for bad.

Sun Conjunct Venus Rx: Venus Transits The Face Of the Sun (Between Earth & The Sun)

June 5,6 2012
Venus Gemini Rx
15-16°

Numerology / Astrology
5 = Variety, communication, Gemini, Virgo, Mercury
6 = Love, sex, support, Taurus, Libra, Venus
1 = Self, innovation, Aries, Mars

So I figure this transit conjunction shines a light on self-love and having a more supportive relationship with ourselves, learning to communicate better what our needs and boundaries are, and setting out to be better lovers and interdependent beings. And because of that, we are more well-liked and loved.

Because as the old sayings go: You can’t love anyone else, unless you love yourself. But also, no one can love you unless you love YOU.

Sun Conjunct Venus Rx will be in my 5th on the 5th / 6th @ 15-16°, how about you?!

Do You Have The GIFT?!

A student said I had the ‘gift’ because they were not getting something I was getting and because they believe in my talent. *eye roll*

Sorry student if you’re reading this – you know I <3 you but aside from the kudos (thanks!) it’s important to be honest with yourself and not externalize what you consider, failure for knowing.

My reply was:  I have the “gift”, if it’s the ‘gift of analysis. :-P

Seriously, yes… that’s what I’m gifted in:  Putting seemingly unrelated items together; pulling stuff apart and putting it back together again, only to pull it apart again; seeing patterns; and making wild connections. :D

So yes, I’m naturally ‘gifted’ at that with my Mercury Conjunct South Node but not Conjunct Pluto in the 8th and in the sign of Virgo, along with my Virgo stellium!!

But anyone can learn anything they want to learn with time, practice, desire, and an open mind.

I also reminded the student that she’s incredibly bright, studious, and able to analyze quite well but from what I understand — she wants an ‘external’ reward for doing so.  That’s maybe a differentiator between myself and many others.

My reward is finding a solution — MY solution.  It doesn’t have to be anyone else’s, no one has to agree, or clap their hands in praise of my almighty mind… LOL though that’s always appreciated says my Leo Sun-Mars in the 7th. ;P

Now, this may be a news flash to some of you but EVERYONE has a gift.  Yup, you too.  Yup, you’re gifted in some way too.

What are you gifted in?  What do you find you seem to do naturally well but is often harder for other people to do?  Did you suppress or stunt your gift, only to find it blooming later in life?  What, astrologically, do you think represents your ‘gift‘?

And if you don’t think you’re gifted in something, I feel it’s important to check your self-esteem.  And frankly, I’d encourage you to get some talk therapy about that too.  Lack of confidence and low self esteem are a couple of things that will hold you and others back in life if you don’t deal with it.

If you’re not sure how your gift shows up astrologically, that’s entirely different and probably has nothing to do with low self-esteem.

(Note: Self-esteem issues are connected to the 2nd house so it’s a good starting point to explore that; however, other houses and signatures also point to this.)

Astrology: Moon Square Saturn, Teaching Astrology

I was teaching a student about astrology.

I’m not formal and I like the student to think for themselves but I find many students feel initially frustrated with my fortified teaching technique and it’s no walk in the park for me either when I’ve got to jump over those hurdles. :P

Thankfully I have this blog and other written ‘traditional’ work in case they think I’m pulling their leg and know nothing about astrology when I ask:  You tell me what it means?

I sometimes think the student is wondering if I even know my stuff and if they think I’m off my rocker.  LOL

Tonight, I asked a student:  What do you know about Saturn?

The first thing that came out of their mouth was:  I don’t know anything about it.

*sigh*

Okay, how about the Moon?

The student says:

It comes out at night.  It changes shape (crescent, full, etc.).  There’s a glow around it. And people act a little weird when there’s a full Moon.

Yes, that’s right!  The Moon illuminates the dark, what is hidden.  It has a cycle, like a woman’s cycle.  It’s mystical and magical.

She was pleased.

I said, Saturn is about a lot of things and one thing it is about is restrictions and blockages.  And squares are about blockages and obstacles.

So Moon Square Saturn can mean a block in a woman’s menstruation cycle when viewing the chart with a medical lens.  It can also mean not being allowed to see what is hidden, and mystical.  And it can also mean repressing or suppressing one’s crazy and irrational feelings. Or on the flipside, it can mean having crazy and irrational feelings (Moon) that block (Square) stability and progress (Saturn) — this is often why astrologers say Moon Square Saturn natives can have depression.

I basically said:  Don’t get frustrated.  Rather, if you’re going to read anything, you’ll want to develop the skills of: making connections, seeing patterns, and joining seemingly unrelated things.

Rules will only get you so far.  Rules, memorization, and perfect answers are mediocre at best.  Personal connection to the material, leaps of understanding and faith — now, that’s excellent reading.

TarotSeek: Tarot Card ‘Anchors’

My ebook Psychic Jucy’s TarotSeek:  Learn How To Read Tarot Cards For Yourself is  about giving a reader a method of reading that will give instant, accurate, and objective readings without any formal tarot training, memorization, or long-winded reading.

Having said that, if the reader is lacking confidence in their abilities (ie new to reading or doesn’t believe they have the *gift* cough, cough) it can be very hard for them to interpret their ‘answers’ or ‘responses’.

Today, a student mentioned that the Tarot Prompt: Describe the card meant that all the cards would eventually mean the same thing and she wouldn’t get anything new out of it.

I said that’s only one prompt.  What about this one:  What’s the first thing you see?  Is the light in the Hermit’s card the first thing you always see?  Or maybe do you see the mountain, walking stick, or beard first?  Whatever you see first becomes the ‘anchor’ of your response.  It has meaning, and there’s a reason why you see one thing over another first.

Also, after you’ve described the card once or twice, you don’t have to keep doing it for that deck, as you’ve already done it.  And doing it, connects you with the card’s core meaning.

TarotSeek is a tool for traditional tarot reading, as well as standing on its own as an original method of tarot reading.

(Note to self:  Add this to my TarotSeek blog and twitter account).

Meditation & Learning Meditation: Deepak Chopra’s Leela™ (Wii & 360)

Deepak Chopra’s Leela™ is a MEDITATION game. Yup, you heard that right. And by the way, it works.

I just got this in tonight and it’s perfect for the first day of Venus RX especially since I wrote about expanding my meditation practice.

And I’ll be working out how to beautify and balance my thinking and speaking with a daily meditation and self-love practice as well as re-formulating communication tasks and the environment I do them in – April 6th, 2012 blog post

I tell you, I really AM on auto-pilot (driven by the universe) a lot of the times.  LOL

I ordered this for my Wii about a week ago and when I wrote the above, I was thinking of the meditation programs I already have like:  Walking Meditation, 8 Minute Meditation, and Mindfulness Meditation!  I really didn’t think I’d be getting Leela in but I’m so happy I did.

Leela, in Sanskrit, means PLAY.  And my Venus Rx is currently in the 5th house and I’m ready to re-energize, review, and rethink my playtime.

I believe I’ll be looking at bringing more art, money, cerebral play, and romance into my life.

And the ‘active’ part of Leela IS a sort of mindless cerebral play that is a feast for the eyes — perfect for Venus Gemini. By the way Deepak is a Libra/Scorpio cusp.  Hrmm. Cool.

There’s two parts. One part is active and one part is reflective. The active part gets you doing mind numbing and peaceful actions that give a sense of growing something. The reflective part gets you to rest and do nothing, go within.

As I play with it more, I’ll update this blog post.

You can get Leela on Amazon.

Mars Direct: Get Out Of the Kitchen, If You Can’t Stand The Heat Because There’s Still Much Work To Do

I’m  “Sweating to the Oldies” ♪ today….

Today, I have tr. Mars Direct Conjunct na. Mercury 0°11a

And the world is experiencing Mars Trine Pluto, Mercury is Trine Mars, Mars Inconjunct Uranus, Mars Opposite Neptune, Mars Opposite Chiron.

I’ve been wanting to write a post on The Astrology of Bullying & Abuse, for over a year now, and hopefully I’ll get into that groove soon.  It’ll be a long one — filled with sources and resources — so I’ll want to carve out a couple of weeks where I can devote time to writing about it as it’s a serious topic and I want to make sure I give it as thorough a treatment as possible — maybe even in a series.

At any rate, today I have an overwhelming desire to communicate about abuse, bullying, and harsh behaviour that has went on in the past. Also, there was some communication about FIRE and the testing of fire alarms.

Transiting Mars is at 8° Virgo (considered a critical degree if it were fixed) which is my natal Mercury.

The number 8 also relates to power, wealth, and health and the month of August is the 8th month in the Gregorian calendar and the Sun is at home in Leo.

And on that note, indicators in a SR for abuse and bullying themes that can either transform, destroy, or cause you to take forceful action?

Sun in the 8th – Death of self. Sun Conjunct Pluto. And when it’s in the orb of influence of another planet, we get more information.  For example, if the Sun is communicating with Venus: Death of self, as it relates to what you love or ability to earn a living through others, is likely to happen.

If you’re getting carried away with the death part, Sun in the 8th doesn’t always mean a literal death though it can feel like you’re dying because if you ever lost someone you loved, you know it can feel like a part of yourself is being torn away from you and at the time it’s as if all your joy and life force has been taken away from you — plus it can lead to physical degradation if you don’t take care of yourself in a time of such stress. And anyway, that’s only one manifestation of Sun-Venus in the 8th of an SR.

Mars in the 8th is also another possibility being that Scorpio (the natural house ruler for the 8th) is also co-ruled by Mars.

Mars can indicate a fiery temperament, self-gratification, indifference to the needs of others — one-track aggressive actions, like a freight train and when it’s in the 8th, it could become a train-wreck — wrecking havoc in one’s life and others.

Of course, it’s never so cut and dry.  Lets say you have Sun-Mercury in your 8th house SR, that could mean that you are ‘talking about abuse’ as in you are doing talks or seminars or it could mean you are actually hearing or communicating abusive language.  The possibilities are endless and reading the whole chart will give the whole picture.  And by the way, whole chart reading (at least for me) takes a few sessions to really work it all out.

And while useful and helpful — a blog post, book, or report can only go so far. A professional astrologer becomes invaluable in sorting out all the little details that these mediums can and will overlook. So, as usual, know that there’s a lot more to what could indicate abuse and bullying in an SR. Also keep in mind, I’m looking at these signs, planets, and houses in the ‘negative’ light.

Life is full of dualities and the positive can and does co-exist with the negative.  Rarely anything or anyone is 100% bad or good, which is why knowing the  ‘context’ or lens (that information is being viewed under) is quite important for responsible reading.

Note: Not only does the Sun in the 8th become Sun Conjunct Pluto but it’s also Sun (Leo) Square Pluto (Scorpio) and Sun Trine Mars (Aries).

Oh and indicators in a SR for fire in your home for that year: Pluto in the 4th, and maybe Mars. Which reminds me, Neptune in the 4th can indicate a flood in the home.

Some Mars Dates:
Turned Direct April 13th EST
In Shadow until June 19th EST

You’re #1: Who Comes First When Communicating?

I had initiated a conversation about something I didn’t like being said to me and then the other person started talking about what they didn’t like about something I said to them a long time ago (but had never told me), skipping right over what I wanted to talk to them about.

I said to them:  Hey, I’m #1 here.  You’re coming in as a #2 but you’re a #1 too.  If you have something to bring up, initiate a conversation about that topic (at that time) and be the #1 that you are.  Otherwise, when you come in as a #2, you make me a #2 and I’m a #1 who doesn’t like going around and around in circles.  And at the very least, address and acknowledge what I’m talking about, come to a resolution with me and then we can talk about your stuff.

If you have something to say, say it first.  Don’t wait for the other person to open the door and follow in behind them.  That’s not fair, empowering, or helpful.

Remember that you’re #1 and so are they.

Words of Wisdom: Ten Things You Need To Know About Your Life

In my mind, the main purpose of all our human lives is the love of wisdom and the wisdom to love.

If you do that, you are probably leading a happier life.

1. Take care of your body.  There are so many wonderful and different bodies out there but the only perfect body is yours.  If you’ve made it imperfect by believing it was imperfect, it may be time to bring it back to it’s perfectly natural state as you possibly can and then honour it this time. Virgo, Vesta — the 6th house asks us to have daily practices that bring health and wellness into your life. Search these practices out, if you don’t already have them.

2. Everything that happens to and around you are lessons for you to learn from.  In many ways we are all children, no matter our age.

3. Enjoy the happy accidents.  Perfection is in imperfection.  Failed plans are opportunities for something great to happen.  Embrace what you didn’t expect.  Expect the unexpected. Let Uranus guide you in discovering what life has to offer, in all its irregular shapes and sizes.

4. Patterns. If you find yourself making the same mistake over-and-over again, you likely have an aversion to learning or graduating from a course of learning. Life can be tough and maybe you want things easy so you figure it’s better to sit in a pile of mess you’re comfortable with then get out of it and start some other pile of mess.  You’re wrong.  After you pass that one lesson, it’ll make the next easier to handle and you’ll gain confidence and joy. If you have Saturn in your 3rd or 9th houses: Blocking the road to wellness, out of fear of having to take responsibility for the life you lead, may be one cause for repetition and failure to learn.  But it’s not the only signature because I don’t have Saturn in those houses and I have failed to learn many things and have had to go through it all over again.  What I’ve been learning to do, is to slow down. I think one personal signature that has casued me to repeat lessons not learned is Mars Square Saturn.

5. The work is never done so learn to enjoy whatever you are doing, in the moment.  Flow. Flow from one lesson into another.  A never ending sea of Neptunian delights. Let everything inspire you (The Sun) towards a magical life.

6. Wherever you are, is where you’re supposed to be.  Be in the moment.  Learn every lesson.  Even if you don’t like where you are, it’s only temporary.  It’s always only temporary.  Remind yourself of that. You’re never where you want to or will be, so enjoy being where you are.

7. Projection.  We all have a 7th house.  We all project.  If you have something nasty or nice to say about someone else, that’s because it’s within you or was within you.  You can’t know what you don’t own (by the way, know contains the word own, k is silent).  And what you love or hate about someone else is what you love or hate about yourself.  So the next time you find yourself admiring someone else (like me, Oh so Leo. ;p) remember to admire that about yourself!! Yes, it might not be as ‘out there’ but you have it.

Update: The psychological term for #7 is called, projection or displacement — I really wish a lot more people would get this… then again, it’s kind of cool to learn about how people view themselves (through others). Listen to what people have to say, good or bad about others and they are telling you about themselves. If they’re quiet or don’t ever say anything about other people, be afraid — be very afraid. And even though I know of this phenomena, I STILL will make note of the good and bad that I see, myself. Having said that, if you’ve been taught to recognize something in others (say you’re law enforcement, psychologist, or you’ve read some articles about something you knew nothing before about etc…), then it may not be a projection.

The important thing is not to stop noticing good and bad in others, but to notice that that good and bad exists within you too. That’s when the magic of compassion, understanding, and self-development ignites.

8. As an adult, you have everything you need — all the resources you could ever want is currently at your feet, a phone call, chat, or walk away.  You’ve been provided with everything you need, in this moment — remember it.  It may not be in the package you readily seek but you have it. It’s there to be taken and if you don’t know how to take it, wellness providers (like myself) can help you tap into these resources.

9. As a psychic I can’t remember how many times I’ve said this.  And this is another reason why I created TarotSeek.  The best answers lie within.  You know everything.  Yup, there’s nothing you don’t know.  You may not be able to always put words to it and it might be buried deep, but you know everything. As a tarot reader, I connect with you to access the answers you and others hold.  I’m not godly, I’m just connected and present.

So I ultimately don’t believe in regular tarot readings.  I believe in my style of tarot reading (when you don’t read the cards all by yourself) which is about accessing YOUR wisdom and that’s why I’m YOUR Wisdom Guide!

10. When I teach people tarot, I always tell them that no matter what they say — they’ll always be right.  Tarot is story telling, telling true stories.  But if they think they are not allowed to read, they won’t succeed.  However, one of the things I do give freely to others is confidence (Sun in the 7th) so when you work with me. you’ll very likely achieve things you never thought you could. Just try to remember that I helped you along your way and let other people know too so they can benefit from my gifts as well.

Aspect Types: Oppositions in Synastry & Natal Astrology Chart

I was grazing the incoming search terms and “oppositions in synastry” came up but unfortunately they didn’t find the blog post they came to read (hint: use the SEARCH feature to the right, at the time of writing this!).

So I’ll take a moment to share more thoughts on that signature.

To simplify, synastry isn’t much different than natal astrology except for the difference that instead of the chart showing your ‘relationship with yourself’, the synastry chart shows a relationship with an external entity (another person or persons).

The conjunction, inconjunction, and opposition all share something in common — a blind-spot of some sort.

An opposition is really just another side of a conjunction and an inconjunction is a maladjusted or poorly constructed opposition.

Oppositions in a natal chart indicate extreme vacillations (see my posts on oppositions) or at least that’s how it can appear to people on the outside.

To you, on the inside, you may find the annoying back and forth, yo-yo dance (that you can’t quite figure out the steps to) irritating and you may even perceive that it’s outside forces causing your missteps.

In synastry, an opposition has a similar effect.  In fact, it’s kind of crazy making because it causes a one foot in, one foot out (hot and cold effect) with the object of your affection or dejection.

An opposition is imbalanced, like the inconjunction, but unlike the quincunx, the instability of an opposition can last much longer and there seems to be a much harder ability to or less interest to harmonize differences ( a real blind-spot!).

Where do you have oppositions in your chart?

That’s where you are out-of-focus and have great difficulty seeing the whole picture.

So in synastry, an opposition basically means that the celestial objects and angles that form that aspect basically don’t see eye-to-eye and the people involved struggle in a tug-o-war to get the other person to see their point of view. It’s very Aries (Mars)-Libra (Venus).

Some say this is hot.  And if the right celestial objects are involved, it IS hot (in the exciting way) but how often and long do you want to burn?! If Mars is control, the relationship or “planetary themes” will burn out faster then you can say FLY or is that FIGHT. Of course, if you’ve got Saturn in the mix, you’re going to be forced to fry until you figure out what karmic mess you’ve both involved yourself in.

But hey, why not beat the red planet with a softer planet?  Lets bring Venus in.

One of the best ways to harmonize this aspect is for ALL people involved in the synastry to: Compromise, and extend the olive branch and be interested in discovering what’s on the other side.

BUT if only one person does that, the other (the partner) will surely be dissatisfied.  Because when it comes to Libra, there must be a mirror effect occurring for the love and fairness of Venus to shine through.

Now before we get too smitten with Venus, in the dance of the opposition, Mars is still quite necessary as he keeps it real and reminds that individual needs are still important. And Venus can be too soft and then you may end up with apathy and nothingness for fear of the somethingness (intended spelling mistake) you may not want.

So we can not ever really have Mars (activity) without Venus (receptivity), and vice versa, unless we want to eventually land into a funk. Afterall, Earth is situated between the two.

That means that Venus doesn’t get her way, nor does Mars BUT they can both get their needs met and that’s what you’ll want to achieve in an opposition, within synastry.

Alright, I REALLY need to get out of this Astrogasm blog for awhile and back into VirgoVault.  It’s just that it seems to take so much more ‘time’ to write an article over there because after I write my article, I read up on what others say, give them a shout-out, find some groovy picture, organize the article, etc. etc.  It takes a long time to write one of those beasts.  LOL But I see I keep writing long winded articles on here and this blog was intended for short quips. Mon dieu! ;-)

Buying Used & New Tarot Decks: eBay, Auction Websites, Classifieds, etc

The following is my experience and suggestion for buying used or new tarot decks:

  • Read the ad well and ask questions in advance of bidding;
  • Try to buy new only (deck energy can be passed on and it may take some time, if ever, for the deck to respond well to you). This doesn’t seem to apply to out of print decks that seem to carry a very different energy from decks you can buy new but that are used;
  • If you buy used, make sure it’s from a good seller with good people energy (see their feedback);
  • Don’t buy the first deck you see (unless an extremely rare deck and I mean it wouldn’t post in the next 6 months or so — these are the OOP’s (out of print), HTF Rare (Hard to Find)) — use the “favourites” to price decks over time;
  • Consider the “overall” price of the purchase (shipping, handling, and price of deck);
  • Check Google and Amazon to see what the going price is and if anyone reputable is selling it for less on the Internet (check copyright dates and publishers to ensure you are seeking out the “right” copy );
  • Don’t go over your pre-set price (know what you want to spend on the deck based on your research and pass if it’s above that — you will eventually get your deck for the price you want to pay!);
  • Deck collecting can become addictive;make a budget! *grin*
  • When collecting tarot decks, consider: themes, gems (decks a lot of people may not go for now but that are really *different* from the rest for example independently published decks), and the collector value.

Have fun!

Chart Reading Tricks: Where’s Your Mars? What Are You Tireless About? What are your PASSIONs?

Where’s your Mars? What Are You Tireless About? What Can You Go On Forever About?

* What house is your Mars in?
* Look for the signs Aries AND Scorpio. What houses are those signs on?
* What planets, if any, are in those houses?
* What are the themes of those houses?
* What signs or planets are in your house of Scorpio (8th house)?

+ My Mars is in the 7th (natural house ruler: Venus)
+ Aries is on the 3rd house cusp (natural house ruler: Mercury)
+ Chiron is in the 3rd (natural house ruler: Mercury)
+ Scorpio is on the 10th house cusp (natural house ruler: Mars)
+ Neptune is in the 10th (natural house ruler: Saturn)
+ Leo is on my 8th (natural house ruler: Mars)
+ Virgo stellium in my 8th (natural house ruler: Mars)

This is where I don’t give up, what I could do forever, what I can be tireless about — to the point of exhaustion:

I’m a long distance bike rider. I can speak assertively and fearlessly from the moment I wake to the moment I sleep. I speak with force and energy – quickly! I love trade and commerce and I’m a strong worker. I email, email, email. I phone, phone, phone. I have a daily blog and I write all over the darn place (forums, other blogs, social networking, on and off-line), quickly. Tweet, tweet. (Aries/Mars on the 3rd). I encourage people to speak their peace, have their voice heard, and to heal their communication challenges and I do this for myself too -Aries!! (Chiron in the 3rd). I don’t give up on relationships. I don’t shy away from difficult topics or challenges when I’ve obligated myself or chose to be under contract. (Mars in the 7th). I delve deeply into the occult science. I’m seen as a 24/7 psychic bridging the natural world to the supernatural world. Always on, ready to read. LOL (Scorpio on the 10th, Neptune in the 10th). I create, create, create. I’m an entrepreneur and will readily come up with new services, websites, service names, etc. I will lead when others will only follow. I get down to the depths of art and drama. Creative, role player. ;-)  (Leo on the 8th). I think, think, think. I delve into minutia. I take big and complex things a part to make them small and easily digestible. Mental sex?! I’ve been known to be  a tease ;P (Virgo stellium in the 8th). I don’t have any planets in Aries and only Scorpio Neptune!!

As usual, just skimming the surface.
Where’s your Mars? What Are You Tireless About? What Can You Go On Forever About?

These are your gifts, the energy that gets self-replenished — this is where your PASSION flies.

(Notes: We could include Pluto for Scorpio; however, I really wanted to stick to pure Mars (traditional signs/planets) for this chart reading trick™. Use whatever house system you want.)

Seeking Low Carbohydrate FOOD in Canada, Toronto, Ontario, Quebec? Check out this Low Carb Grocery.

The Low Carb Grocery

Seeking Low Carbohydrate FOOD in Canada (all provinces), Toronto, Ontario, Quebec? Check out this Low Carb Grocer.

I’m currently re-structuring how and what I eat. My body needs less carbohydrates. It’s actually very efficient in storing carb’s (that turn into fat). This is great if I were on an island and needed to survive or was a hunter in medieval or cave man times but it’s not good in a more sedentary lifestyle.

In fact, I would say that fatter people (who got fat through carb’s) would be considered the fittest in the right environment. So it’s important to eat for your type AND environment.

I’m so excited to have found this grocer because a) they do FREE delivery in Ontario and Quebec when you spend over $100, b) the prices are about the same (if not the same) as in a normal grocery store and c) I know that everything in this store, I can eat!

I’ve lost 5 pounds in the first 2 weeks of this metabolic diet WITHOUT exercise (other than a bike ride and walk). That’s right, I have a desk job (work from home) and barely did any exercise and LOST weight!! Kind of scary in a way but I hope to continue to lose this sort of weight as my body is in ketosis.

Anyway…
At first, I thought there wasn’t a lot to eat but as I changed my eating habits and used this grocery shop — I am loving how I’m feeling, I am full, and I truly CAN eat a low carbohydrate diet without feeling as if I’m losing out on anything.

Check it out and start losing weight and be the thin person you actually are!!

ElsaElsa Boards: What Makes You Feel Sexy?

I tell you, I could spend all day on Elsa Elsa’s boards.  It’s great astrology fun and the topics are so diverse and represent life.

Anyway, here’s another topic I answered and I’d like a record of it here on my blog:

What makes you feel sexy?

A freshly showered and lotion lathered body, clean sleepwear and bed sheets. A clean home would be nice too as well as writing down all the tasks I have to do.  That way they can get out of my brain and I can get into sexy land. Oh, and also lovely music and a well-ordered, calm environment — a spiritual one even.

If it isn’t obvious, hotels and spa environments can easily get me in the mood. :-)

I believe this is very Virgo Venus.  In order for me to reach the land of Mars, the doors of Venus must be open.

ElsaElsa Board Question: Your first clue you are talking to a Pisces?

The question posed on the fabulous Elsa Elsa board was: Your first clue you are talking to a Pisces?

My response:

Ivana so true about Pisces speaking to themselves and to plants, vegetables, etc. when no one is around or when people are around but no one is talking to them. :-)

I also agree with those who said a gentle, soft, watery, ethereal, not-there *quiet* look. But some Pisces, especially female Pisces, can come across very strong and direct (perhaps they have Aries in Mercury or Venus or something like that).

I also agree that ALL the mutable signs have something to do with communicating and sharing knowledge: Gemini, Sag, Virgo, Pisces…

The Astrology of Re-Marriage & Children

The Astrology of Re-Marriage & Children

I was knitting and thinking of people in their 40’s (going through their Uranus Opp Uranus transit) with children, and I was imagining these women in a group knitting (a la Jane Austen Book Club) and then I had a thought about re-marriages…

If you would agree that a child is the product of a man (sperm) and a woman (egg) then that means the combination will show up in astrological signatures and it has with the limited research I’ve done on it.

If a Libran Mother has a child with a Leo Father and the child is Sagittarius, they will all generally get along (ego, life-force, basic personality). But what if the Libra remarries a Gemini?  They are likely to get along (even the Leo father would get along with the new husband) but what about the Gemini step-parent and the child of the Leo father?

The new parent will likely be at odds with the Sag child and this can have a heartbreaking negative effect on the child since they would have likely got along better with their biological parent but due to the break-up may have lost out on the chance to become fully functional within the original configuration.

Just something to consider when re-marrying with children.

Will your children, astrologically, get along with your new love?  And if they are naturally not a good fit, what can be done to make the connection a smoother one? Will the biological parent still have a large influence on the upbringing and connection with your child?

(My apologies for the hetero example.  I just thought it would make things a bit easier to explain from my point of view!).

New At Knitting

Learned how to knit for the first time in my life!

It was boring but also exciting. It also seems like a useless activity to me (sorry knitting lovers) BUT I love when something springs to life, it’s great for passing the time, and it’ll be a joy to make special gifts! I also like how the teacher said that it was like, learning a new language! And I LOVE languages…

Jupiter & Uranus Libra in the 9th House

It’s true that travel and education are so important for and to me, yet the best I seem to do so far is ride my bike & read books. Every time I travel, I think of something new.  And when I learn, other ideas spring forward.

Travel and education are stimulating adventures for me.  And while I somewhat kid about the bike and books, I haven’t done the kind of traveling (overseas) and education (getting a degree) that I’d like to do.

I think that’s partly because the way I want to do these things do not fit into the everyday life that I lead.  And having Libra on the 9th means that I like to travel with someone else and learn one-on-one. So it can be seen that long distance travel and higher education is a challenge for me.

But I work around these things…

And if you are ever wondering about my new fangled ideas, Jupiter-Uranus in the 9th are likely the culprits! ;-) Now it’s up to me to continue fine-tuning my Neptune-Saturn aspect and present innovations in a way that is easy to accept and understand while not being too normal, as to not be seen as an innovation.

Virgo, Scorpio, the 6th and 8th Houses and Body Modification / Weight Loss

Little known fact about me: I have a love of body modification (Virgo stellium in the 8th) through natural means.  It gives me so much joy to know the body can do such wonderful things, on its own, if we just work with it and give it a little non-invasive assistance. Natural body modification, to me, is anything we do to naturally affect our body (including hair) but is not likely permanent — it must be maintained by its owner. Weight loss, is one body modification that Virgo and Scorpio (the 6th and 8th houses) can delight in.

Art & Man, Pablo Picasso: An Astrology Celebrity Reading

Recently I visited the opening weekend (for members only) at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), of the Pablo Picasso exhibit.

I didn’t set out to pepper my post with Pablo Picasso quotes but somehow they’ve weaved their way into it.  During the exhibit I wrote some notes (see below) and one word I used was narcissist. If he was narcissistic, I’ve certainly played into it here.

At any rate, I was stunned at the breadth of mediums in which Pablo worked upon.  Canvas, wood, steel, bronze, photography — it was as if he worked on anything he could get his hands on — as if everything was for him to play with, create upon, mold, mix, and tamper with. He was prolific and relentless — two traits for sure success!

Before this exhibition, I had limited thoughts about Pablo Picasso. I was familiar with his Cubism but I wasn’t prepared for what else I saw.  You too may have your thoughts challenged after seeing this huge body of work.

The exhibit took me about 1.5 hours to traverse.

With Taurus Neptune, Pluto, and Jupiter in his 10th, Venus Sextile Ascendant, and Pisces on the 9th — clearly he was well suited to the sensual body arts — including painting, and working with one’s hands. And having Chiron in there says to me that he used his art as a way to heal the inner demons of his Sun and Mercury in the 4th.

For those who know how to read, I have painted my autobiography. (Pablo Picasso)

It appears that he couldn’t speak about the depths of pain he witnessed, while growing up and that shows up strongly in his Mercury aspects.

Having Aquarius on the 7th caused a love/hate relationship in his relationships.  He loved his freedom but also wanted to control his women.  Leo risings can appear innocent and playful until they feel out of control. This control also shows up in Venus Trine Pluto amd Moon Opposite Pluto.  But these placements also suggest he had willing victims or rather Plutonian women attracted to his own powerful, restrictive, manipulative, and forceful nature!

He also had Jupiter Conjunct Algol! Off with her head and would have been seen for how busted the self-esteem of the women in his life.

His Taurus stellium  gave him a tenacity to succeed in the art world.  He would not tolerate being snubbed.  Jupiter Conjunct Neptune in the 10th would assure that and if you got in his way, watch out for Plutonian bullying and Aries pushing (Mars on the 10th and in the 12th) of his artwork.

Action is the foundational key to success. (Pablo Picasso)

Notably all his 10th house planets are retrograde.  This generally shows an inward reflection and as I’ve said above, I believe he used his art as a psychological outlet for what he could not express in a spoken way.  But with retrograded planets in a public house, he may have felt too exposed at times.

Saturn in the 10th shows he was serious about his art but that he would also be somewhat delayed in his achievement and with Saturn Conjunct Neptune,  I imagine he was always fighting feeling like a fraud.  He probably found it ludicrous that so much money came his way (for what he did — experiments and playful chicken-scratching as he might have seen a lot of his work) but with Jupiter Conjunct Pluto, he was destined to make that kind of money with this art. He also may have felt that for every step forward, he had to take two steps back (in some way) though his Mars Sextile Saturn would put up with it even if others took note of his impatience to move forward quickly.

As for his wealth, as I mentioned earlier that shows up with Jupiter Taurus Conjunct Pluto in the 10th! He tapped into and expanded old money and people with deep pockets — collectors and patrons!

It’s funny, I have no desire to explain what his individual paintings, sculptures, etc. mean as I don’t think they really mean anything.  Rather, they are fierce expressions of feeling, thought, and the times — nothing more and after pouring through his quotes (after writing up my impressions) Picasso seems to agree:

Those trying to explain pictures are as a rule completely mistaken. (Pablo Picasso) and What I want is that my picture should evoke nothing but emotion. (Pablo Picasso)

While I was at the exhibit, I wrote some notes (below) and did some artwork.

And I thank Pablo with helping me create a pair of sensual lips.

Good artists borrow. Great artists steal. (Pablo Picasso)

Interestingly enough, one of my sister’s thought I had drawn one of my other sister’s and she happens to be a Taurus.  And I’ve noticed that Taurus women have unmistakeable lips! Have you noticed this too? Another interesting thing is that Pablo has a stellium in Taurus.

Some notes I made while walking around the exhibit. I wrote these notes before seeing his quotes.  I won’t get into what I think they mean but they might strike a thought for you.

  • Playing cards
  • Salome 1905
  • One missing eye (destructive)
  • Different styles, ways of expressing, shading (Uranus aspects)
  • Experimental (Uranus aspects)
  • Fast & quick (Aries)
  • Studies
  • Unfinished feel
  • Landscape with figures blended into environment
  • The Thoth Tower tarot card (Cubism, same time period!)
  • Playing with dimensions and 3D
  • Grotesque sculptures
  • Overemphasized features
  • Body parts disassembled (destruction, dissociative)
  • Power
  • Narcissism
  • Vibrant colors
  • Pop art: Portrait of Dora Maar
  • Preoccupation with Bulls & Balls (Taurus) — masculinity
  • Dr. Who’s Cybermen (Massacre in Korea)
  • Difficulty dealing with the pain of women
  • Difficulty understanding women

As usual, I’m just scratching the surface.  It’d take hours and long discussion to flush out Pablo, the man and the artist!

I was quite glad to have had the opportunity to experience Picasso, up close and personal, but I’ll be forthright in saying that I was happy when it was over.  I felt like I had got injected with a large dose of testosterone, ego tripping, and self-flagellation!

Anyway, the exhibit was superb and well-put together — it flowed nicely!

And I hope it goes without saying that an aspect doesn’t mean just one thing.  I’ve just paired the impressions of the exhibit with what he had in his chart.  I knew little about the man or his art until after doing my reading and seeing his work. And there are many ways for an aspect to manifest.

Astrology Matched with Pablo Picasso Quotes

If you take my sayings and explode them in the air, they remain only sayings. But if you fit them together in their correct places, you will have the whole story. (Pablo Picasso)

The same goes for astrology as well.  An aspect or signature is only part of the chart.  To know the whole story of a person or person’s, all those bits will need to be read together.  Intelligent man!

Below are some of those bits fitting with some of his bits.  Not the whole story but getting to it, nonetheless…

Sun Scorpio in the 4th: When you come right down to it, all you have is yourself. Yourself is a sun with a thousand fires in your belly. The rest is nothing. (Pablo Picasso) “For me, the picture is the sum of the destruction .  I make a painting, and then I destroy it.” (Pablo Picasso) Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. (Pablo Picasso) Painting isn’t an aesthetic operation; it’s a form of magic designed as a mediator between this strange, hostile world and us, a way of seizing the power by giving form to our terrors as well as our desires. (Pablo Picasso) No, painting is not made to decorate apartments, it’s an offensive and defensive weapon against the enemy. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Opposite Midheaven: People don’t realize what they have when they own a picture by me. Each picture is a phial with my blood. That is what has gone into it. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Opposite Saturn: I don’t know in advance what I am going to put on canvas any more than I decide beforehand what colours I am going to use. (Pablo Picasso)

Mercury Scorpio in the 4th, Mercury Opposite Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto, Midheaven, Chiron: Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. (Pablo Picasso) I don’t say everything, but I paint everything. (Pablo Picasso) Often while reading a book one feels that the author would have preferred to paint rather than write; one can sense the pleasure he derives from describing a landscape or a person, as if he were painting what he is saying, because deep in his heart he would have preferred to use brushes and colors. (Pablo Picasso)

Neptune in the 10th, Pisces in the 8th: The people who make art their business are mostly imposters. (Pablo Picasso)

Saturn Conjunct Neptune: Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies. If he only shows in his work that he has searched, and researched, for the way to put over lies, he would never accomplish anything. (Pablo Picasso) What the artist gains in the way of liberty he loses in the way of order. (Pablo Picasso) You have to start somewhere. You can always erase reality later on. (Pablo Picasso) Everything you can imagine is real. (Pablo Picasso) Academic training in beauty is a sham. We have been so deceived, but so well deceived that we can scarcely get back even a shadow of the truth. (Pablo Picasso) Art is a lie that helps us to realize the truth. (Pablo Picasso)  We now know that Art is not the truth… but rather a way of approaching the truth. (Pablo Picasso) We all know that art is not truth. Art is the lie that makes us realize truth – at least the truth that is given us to understand. (Pablo Picasso) The world today doesn’t make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do? (Pablo Picasso)

It’s interesting that Pablo has made a lot of statements that connect to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction he has in his natal chart. It’s in the 10th house and it’s obvious he has a strong connection between reality and fantasy which essentially this aspect means.

Sun Square Ascendant: I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. (Pablo Picasso)

Sun Semi-square Uranus, Uranus in the 2nd Trine Jupiter, Neptune, and Saturn in the 10th!– By amusing myself with all these games, all this nonsense, all these picture puzzles, I became famous… I am only a public entertainer who has understood his time. – (Pablo Picasso)

Uranus Aspects: I have never made radically different experiments. Whenever I wanted to say something, I said it the way I believed I should. (Pablo Picasso) His Uranus aspects would suggest something different and I also noted his experimental nature in his art! Aha, he goes on to betray this quote:  I must keep on trying, just to keep the experiment going until I get tired of it all. Even if the last result is not necessarily the best, I stop when my interest in the problem wanes. (Pablo Picasso) –  What good are computers? They can only give you answers. (Pablo Picasso) I see for others… in order to put on canvas the sudden apparitions which come to me. (Pablo Picasso)

Uranus Leo in the 2nd: I’d like to live like a poor man with lots of money. (Pablo Picasso)

As an Artist, Pablo reminds me to..

Paintings are but research and experiment. I never do a painting as a work of art. All of them are researches. I search constantly and there is a logical sequence in all this research. (Pablo Picasso)

To blossom forth, a work of art must ignore or rather forget all the rules. (Pablo Picasso)

The painter goes through states of fullness and evaluation. That is the whole secret of art. (Pablo Picasso)

I do not seek. I find. (Pablo Picasso)

If you’re trying to find something, it means you haven’t got it. And if you find it simply by looking for it, that means it’s false. (Pablo Picasso)

I don’t know in advance what I am going to put on canvas any more than I decide beforehand what colours I am going to use. (Pablo Picasso)

Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. (Pablo Picasso)

Art is the elimination of the unnecessary. (Pablo Picasso)

If only we could pull out our brain and use only our eyes. (Pablo Picasso)

If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse, but you will surely see the wildness. (Pablo Picasso)

This is how it is for me too…

We have some similar aspects and we both have Neptune in the 10th.

You have to have an idea of what you are going to do, but it should be a vague idea. (Pablo Picasso)

I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else. (Pablo Picasso)

Unless your work gives you trouble, it is no good. (Pablo Picasso)

A picture is not thought out and settled beforehand. While it is being done it changes as one’s thoughts change. (Pablo Picasso)

One never knows what one is going to do. One starts a painting and then it becomes something quite else. It is remarkable how little the ‘willing’ of the artist intervenes. (Pablo Picasso)

I consider a work of art as a product of calculations, calculations that are frequently unknown to the author himself. (Pablo Picasso)

What I achieve the first day can be perfectly valid, but it is not satisfying. If I can go that far spontaneously, then I must shed that result as an old skin and inquire further into the unknown, or at least the not-yet-known-to-myself. (Pablo Picasso)

While I am working I am not conscious of what I am putting on the canvas. (Pablo Picasso)

Quotes: Bill Clinton on Problem Solving, Nature vs. Nurture, Crossword Puzzles, Intelligence, Positivity

Sometimes you have to go at a problem the way I’d go at a complicated crossword puzzle. Sometimes I’d pick up the Saturday Times crossword puzzle and I’d go over way over half the clues before I’d know the answer to one and then you start with what you know the answer to and you just build on it and eventually you can unravel the whole puzzle. And so I rarely work a puzzle with of any diffculty from one across and one down and all the way to the end, in a totally logical fashion. And I think a lot of difficult, complex problems are like that.  You have to find something aspect of it you understand and build on it until you can unravel the mystery that you’re trying to understand.

Nearly anybody can learn nearly anything they need to know.  Nature has something to do with it but I think nurture has something to do with it.  I think, nature made Einstein’s massive brain and made him what he was but nurture can make nearly everyone seem to be above average intelligence if they have the right sort of nurturing early as well as the right kind of formal schooling and academic challenges and adults who believe in them when they’re children.  I really believe it’s a little bit of both but most of us are all capable of doing more than we think! –  Bill Clinton in WordPlay
