Language: The Divine of the Higher Mind vs 3rd House Frivilous Speech

Thinking about language again…

Advocates of this school of thought point out that words are cheap. As digital hallucinations, they are intrinsically unreliable. Should an especially clever ape, or even a group of articulate apes, try to use words in the wild, they would carry no conviction. The primate vocalizations that do carry conviction — those they actually use — are unlike words, in that they are emotionally expressive, intrinsically meaningful and reliable because they are relatively costly and hard to fake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_language#Ritual.2Fspeech_coevolution

After watching Frequencies / OXV: The Manual (a philosophy / outlook I believe in and talk a lot about in small dosages… it’s along the thinking style shared in my article: The Prison Planet), I thought about what makes one person’s speech resonate on a higher level than anothers.

I think different words, have a different vibrations and therefore a different impact and response to them, once heard or read. I also believe that words are magical, and are supposed to be used for magic making (incantations / spells); however, eventually language got into the hands of the world’s people but they had to be taught to not make much use of it. This is why a lot of people don’t have much to say, nothing original, meaningful, etc…Most of us have been dumbed down (Tower of Babylon) to avoid provoking a meaningful spell on the world’s people. We’re in language lock-down.

I thought of writing out the same idea with different words. I mean, there can be 100+ words that mean the same thing but have a different impact. So which of the following sentences (that essentially mean the same thing) have a higher or lower frequency? And I use the word frequency within the context of physics or astronomy — how you “feel”, and after hearing or reading something.

Which sentence leaves a lasting impression, or quickest and most forceful impact of meaning? This illustrates higher and lower frequency in speech, and therefore in how you interact with another human being.

I fancy wellness.
I like happiness.
I enjoy eudaemonia.
I appreciate comfort.
I espouse strength.

What we say, and how we string our words together — matters. Not so much the words in and of themselves but the sound vibration and level of frequency. And this is why self-talk, and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) affects us greatly. When we speak, it matters.

While I use English words, consider the sounds of other languages. French is known as the romantic language, and I find Egyptian Arabic to have a soothing sound to it, when spoken by women. What I’m saying here is that the sound or look of the word can mean more than the words.

The Astrology of Projections & How to Heal Them

Projections are insidious and pose a difficult paradox to solve, as one attempts to weave through the labyrinth. Projections are extremely hard to get a handle on, as our unconscious often finds the material too upsetting to handle openly and directly.

In astrology, personal projections are the domain of the 1-7th house axis.
Non-personal projections are the domain of the 4-10th house axis.

Have you had someone project their shadow or gift on to you, and after self and external reflection — your impression is that while the projection may have something to do with you, it is more likely material that the projector is attempting to work out?

Are you saying: I’m fine or comfortable with that? I’m not too much, or too little of what they’re saying about me? Then the projector may be using you as a scapegoat to work out their issues.

If that’s the case, here are six ways to respond to, and resolve projections from others so that you don’t get tied up into the drama of their psyche AND so they begin to do their own dirty work:

1. Yes, I know. And…? (Alt: I know I am, but what are you?)
2. Oh — so you’ve been working with that (doing that, etc.)?
3. Thanks, but no thanks.
4. Let me tell you about a time when…
5. That’s interesting..
6. Oh — Is that what you think about yourself / your motive? (Alt: I know you are, but what am I?)

Four ways to learn from what you project:

1. Notice the negative and positive things you say about and to other people. You know — the judgements, assumptions, and character flaws and character brilliance.
2. How does or has that manifested in your life? Do you want more of less of it?
3. Resolve, Redeem, or Renew. Resolve, Redeem, or Renew. Turn negative, into positive. Enhance positive, and see the dark side. There is no light, without the dark.”
4. Forget about it. Stop noticing it in others. When you do, nod. When they do, nod. Don’t give it energy, or weight. Understand. Have compassion.

If you haven’t learned much about projections (outside of what I wrote above), here are a few informative links:

Wiki Answers on Projection & Transference | Shadow Projection is Its Own Medicine | The Astrology Place Note: The out of print Liz Greene book noted at The Astrology Place is probably connected to this book (a less expensive option). Barriers and Boundaries: The Horoscope and the Defenses of the Personality. I haven’t read either so I am not certain of their contents.

One day I hope to gain a degree in sociology/psychology. And I would like to institute “Projection therapy”. Which would be as simple as: What don’t you like about another? And the therapeutic dialogue part would be to help the patient acknowledge, accept, and resolve that within their own make-up. As well as find solutions to problems, as all answers are contained within — and are connected to the universal mind.

Projections are a painful truth, and is a self-healing tool.

“The unconscious side of us has a different schedule to the conscious side. It wants to get a certain experience by constellating into our lives those lessons the unconscious needs. It does this by manifesting outside events and influences that override the efforts of the conscious to avoid them.” Alison Chester-Lambert from Astrology Reading Cards.

If you were not aware before, be aware now — anything, I mean ANYTHING you say about someone else can easily be connected back to you. There is an interplay between yourself and other or the internal and external.

You can’t know, what you don’t know exists.

The one exception (that I can readily assess) is if you are *trained* to observe and see something in another such as a psychologist, officer of the peace, etc. and without a doubt do not possess that particular trait in abundance, or of note. Another example is if someone points out a trait or projection to you such as a friend, family member, or the projector themselves.

Do note that even if you do not utter projections out loud, they are still occurring. And just because someone says something about someone else, does not mean they are not aware of that very same thing existing within their own selves. In other words, not everyone is ignorant to their projections. You can find this out, if you will, by questioning them (see Six Ways above).

And if you find yourself saying something nice or naughty about me, do consider that it’s probably a projection — for good or evil and may not actually be my truth.

Astrology Angular House Projection Examples:

Mars in or on the 7th (Barack Obama, Colin Farrel, Stephen Arroyo, Sylvia Brown, Janet Jackson, Demi Lovato, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Adolf Hitler, Tom Cruise, Rihanna, Whitney Houston: The native may think that others are the one’s being aggressive and competing against them. This may be true, as the native attracts similar creatures, but they TOO are also of such a temperament. The positive projection of Mars in 7th is attracting sexual, active, and fearless partners.

Neptune in or on the 10th: The native projects the unconscious of the people. The people also project their collective conscious on to the native. This placement is often great for spiritual leaders (Jesus, Mother Theresa, Oprah Winfrey, Liz Greene, Aleister Crowley) who are in a position to redeem and rehabilitate their sisters and brothers. But also great for actors and performers, who need to readily connect to and carry away the spirit of the viewing audience (Orlando Bloom, Clint Eastwood, Russel Crowe, Trent Reznor, Bob Marley).

Listen to Paul Levy speak about Wetiko / Projections…

The following is an example of 4th/10th non-personal projections. Alanis Morissette: Mars on 10th, Moon Scorpio (Pluto) in 4th. Moon Square Mars. Mars in 12th. Mars Square Uranus, Venus, Moon.

“Not All Me”

I wear their faces all on top of my face
I am the perfect target screen
For your blindly fueled rage
I bare the brunt of your long buried pain
I don’t mind helping you out
But I want you to remember my name

It’s not all me
It’s not all my fault
I may remind you, but I won’t take it all on

Past riddled rage
I see the buttons I engage
With my dignity in place?
I’m all too happy to assuage

It’s not all me
It’s not all my fault
I may remind you, but I won’t take it all on

Lest I find my voice
Find the strength to stand up to you
Lest I stay to my limit
And only take on what is mine to

We are a team
I’m here to help mend and reseam
All I trigger unknowingly
A job I hold in high esteem

It’s not all me
It’s not all my fault
I may remind you, but I won’t take it all on

It’s not all me
It’s not all my fault
I may remind you, but I won’t take it all on
I’ll only take some of it

Astrology: The 2nd House of WORTH

When we know the language of astrology, we can all be gurus…

All language is divine, and astrology is no different. Astrology is essentially a bible of sorts.  A way to live. A guiding path or light, in dark days.

The second house has the sign of Taurus, ruled by Venus on its house cusp. Taurus is part of the element of Earth and it closely connects to Saturn (Capricorn), and Virgo (Vesta).

To learn more about the 2nd house, check out my full length article on the different aspects and themes.

We connect money to worth because money is one possible result of spending time (Saturn) and effort (Virgo/Vesta, sacrificial hard work).

Some people who have low self-esteem, low self-worth, or with the tendency of placing others above or before them — may give a lot of their time and effort (Taurean Venus-Saturn investment) without an equal level of return (money, love, appreciation, etc. — all 2nd house, Taurus, Venus themes), and when that happens — they feel used (ie Venus Square Saturn) and can give less (ie less love, 2nd house, Taurus, Venus themes). So people with low self-esteem, low self-worth, etc. may ALSO be takers, or become takers.

Many people are judged by much they are worth.

And your value can be based on a number of factors such as: How much money you have, who you know, and your status. But it can also be based on ROI – Return on Investment (eh, maybe business school was worth it after all! :P) — what potential you have to give back, or what you give back when someone else invests in you.

In my opinion — a smart, emotionally detached, and conscious person would say: If I put my time, and effort (and maybe money and other resources) into X — what are the chances that I will get anything back from X?

I don’t ask that question enough — maybe because the answer might not be what I want to discover.

When a person is of good stock or character, the ROI is often high.

Sometimes you will lose (giving to others), and sometimes you will gain (taking from others) — but in the end, when there’s a healthy give and take (Libra, Venus) — all are usually happy. And if you can’t give, you can’t truly love (Venus, 2nd House).

So when someone thinks you’re unworthy, they are saying that they think they’ll get less out of you, then they put into you — like a bank account (Taurus) that earns interest or not.

And if you think you’re unworthy, it may be because you do not give of your time, effort, and/or resources while taking what is not yours to really receive.

In that case, it would be true — that yes, you are indeed unworthy in that situation, event, circumstance, or as it relates to that person (as in — within a relationship) but only because you’ve made it a point to take rather than give.

And that’s how you can gain self-esteem and self-worth — by giving to others, without the thought of receiving, if you are historically a taker.

Because givers, who feel upset about others not appreciating what they give, actually DO have good self-worth and understand their value is high. That is unless the act of constant giving, and not taking — wears down on their own self-esteem and sense of value.

So the lesson of givers is to be in balance by taking a trip over to the 8th house (Pluto, Scorpio, who is co-ruled by Mars) — where they learn to accept and encourage people to give of their resources to them! They can also be in balance by giving to themselves, through the 2nd house.

The old saying goes: You need to spend money, to make money.
So you need to give, to get.
And if you are already giving, without getting — STOP.

You’ve spent too much, and profits will be slim or non-existent!

And if you’re getting, without giving and vice versa — there’s a cost to such an opportunity.

Eventually what you get, is going to dry up and you will also lose the opportunity of enjoying genuine self-esteem and self-worth. Or your self-worth and self-esteem will plummet, if you’ve been traditionally a giver.

So make the right decision.

Balance out your 2nd-8th opposition.

If you have been a taker, learn to give. Spend more, conserve less.

If you have been a giver, learn to take.  Spend less, conserve more.

Namaste.

States or Stages of Relationship: Labelling

Note: I’m writing this, as if this were about me – it isn’t. At least not right now. :) It’s just a good way for me to write, placing myself in the shoes of each “relationship” type, so the writing is personal. Sorry for the confusion! :D

Current Mundane Transit: Naturally wrote during VOC Moon Capricorn. Naturally published during Moon Aquarius. Naturally means, with little or no forethought.

I’m a woman, interested in relationships with men, so I’m using the term boyfriend.

How do I label who is who?! Okay, lets break it down…

Me (1st house, Aries): I’m alone. I’m fully independent. This is my time with me, myself, and I. I do on my own. I enjoy on my own. I make decisions on my own, unfettered by the wishes of others.

How to Have a Relationship with Yourself

Six Ways to Deepen Your Relationship with Yourself

The Greatest Love of All: Developing a Relationship with Self

Friend (11th house, Aquarius): A casual friend, associate, or acquaintance is someone I see or talk to and/or see once or twice a month — maybe even only a handful of times a year. We are not involved in each others personal lives, in any great way.  We mostly meet for the enjoyment of mutual interests, and causes. Distance is welcomed. And opinions are often fixed, with no overt desire for them to be on your side.

*Aries is Sextile Aquarius — they get along quite easily. In other words, one can can lead to the other quite easily. So You can be friends with people easily. Aquarius is more detached, and friend oriented so it will naturally accept the independence of Aries and not get wrapped up in its fiery nature. Basically it’s not a stretch. And Me (Aries) can become a boyfriend (Leo) because they are in Trine to each other.

4 Ways to be a Good Friend

Different Degrees of Friendship (Christian Angle)

Boyfriend (5th house, Leo): A boyfriend is someone I talk to almost, maybe even, every day. They care about my well-being. They are involved in my personal life. They help out wherever and whenever they can, with or without request. The do thoughtful things like giving me a massage when I complain of fatigue, picking me up a coffee on their way over to my place, surprising me with a home cooked meal or a poem, etc. We socialize two to three times a week. They attend most special occasions such as holiday events with family, my birthday, a work function, etc. They attend many recreational events with me. They’ve met my most important friends, and family.

Friends (Aquarius) may not turn into boyfriends. It can be an easier leap from Me to Lover / Lust (5th house) but I strongly prefer getting to know people, over time.  Growing from the cool Aquarius friendship, to a warmer Leo relationship. :)

7 Ways to be a Good Boyfriend

Being a Good Boyfriend

Companion / Lover (5-11th house, Aquarius-Leo): A companion is between a friend, and a boyfriend. This is someone whom I could speak to a few times a week. They may not care much about my well-being, and tend to have a more self-involved nature.  That’s good, because that means I can be more self-involved too without having to concern myself about meeting obligations that would come with a boyfriend or spouse. I have a lot of fun with this person, and they brighten my life mentally, emotionally, and maybe even physically (FWB). They are not generally seeking to better my life other than through their presence! They know about some of my personal life, but don’t really get involved with helping me solve my personal problems. We know when to give space, take time and back off, and when to see each other again. We don’t get bothered by this inconsistency. We may see each other once a week, or a handful of times a month. They might be counted on for the occasional need, upon request. They attend only the most important social gatherings.

Aquarius and Leo do not get along as much (being in opposition) but there’s still a solid connection. The Companion is the odd man out! This is really the limbo and unpredictable state — bouncing back and forth between feeling close, and feeling detached. Feeling like there’s something more, and feeling like there’s something less — or that they’re could be. Sun Opposite Uranus. So this connection type can have a hard time figuring out if they’re coming or going.

Definition of Casual Relationship

Are you having a Casual Relationship?

* I couldn’t find many good links on how to be a good companion. Maybe because it’s a cross between a friend and a boyfriend, and has a hazy definition because of that. After-all, it covers two houses! :) Frankly, it could go either way — at any time!

Spouse or Committed Partner (7th house, Libra/Juno): A spouse or partner is my right hand man. We are two peas in a pod, and come as a unit. Unless it’s a “me day” with friends, when I’m invited somewhere, it’s expected my spouse is invited too. They know pretty much everyone I know. We speak to each other daily, and hang out often, though we may not have as many fun outings together as we are busy attempting to achieve our ambitions. It’s part work, and part play — whereas a boyfriend or companion is mostly focused on pleasure and friendship — not work. They seek out information about my personal life, so they can help me solve problems that get in the way of our dreams and ambitions. Decisions are made together, as we’re aware that whatever the other does — affects BOTH of us. A spouse or committed partner is a friend, companion, and boyfriend — they fill all roles and we know we’ve made a commitment through sickness, and health — until death (including divorce) do us part. Being a spouse is a lot of work, but there’s lots of rewards too. A shared vision of ambition (even if the ambition is to do nothing!) is essential for survival.

Libra and Leo, Sextile — so get along quite easily. In other words, one can can lead to the other quite easily. So a boyfriend, can lead to a husband quite easily. However, a Me (Aries) does not make the leap to You (Libra) — You and I in a permanent relationship — very easily. Having said that, Me (Aries) can make a good leap to Boyfriend (5th H / us).

4 Ways to be a Good Husband

7 Ways to be a Great Husband

How to Be a Good Wife

Serious relationships start in the 1st house (a relationship with yourself), and end in the 7th house (a relationship with other). Then in between you have boyfriends and girlfriends (5th house), and casual friendships (11th house).

When a love interest wants more from you, they need to be willing to give more.  There’s a saying:

Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

Venus & Money: Where’s your Venus? Who do you make money from?

Wherever your Venus is, represents who pays you or who you make money from.

  1. Where’s your Venus?
  2. What house does Venus reside?

Venus primarily rules Taurus, and co-rules Libra (who is primarily ruled by Juno).

  • Venus is in my 8th house, and on my 9th and 4th.
  • I make money from my contractors (their skills), in my business.  I also make money from spiritual seekers, and learners! And eventually I’ll make money from publishers, of my writing. :D

The 8th house is about other people’s resources, amongst other things. It’s also the house of business.

Also note where your Neptune is (higher form of Venus).  Mine is in the 10th. I’ve received anonymous donations (don’t’ get too excited — small amounts!! haha), for example. The 10th is the general public.

Quickly…

In or on the 1st – You make money from yourself. Entrepreneurship, or self-employment where YOU do the job (being a contractor).

In or on the 2nd – You make money from money (investments, banking, real estate, etc). Also by people who have an artistic nature (collectors) and value (wealthy people).

In or on the 3rd – You make money from neighbors, siblings, co-workers. Also by people who do a lot of short distance traveling, and people who like short term learning (workshops, tutoring).

In or on the 4th – You make money from your parents — Mom and/or Dad. Ancestral skills, or financial help (especially connected to your living space). You make money from the people who live in your home (such as renters).

In or on the 5th – You make money from gambling, your children, your hobbies, close friends, dates, or risk taking.

In or on the 6th – You make money from your employer, or various employers. You make money from people concerned about their health (physically sick people), or daily life.

In or on the 7th – You make money from your partnerships, or committed romantic partner (ie, your spouse).

In or on the 8th – You make money from other people’s resources and skills — usually from business, taxes, or inheritance. People who use their skills to directly make you money in your business.

In or on the 9th – You make money from a church, spiritual seekers, pursuit of higher knowledge, students and teachers, your writing (publishers)…

In or on the 10th – You make money from the masses — the general public. This often comes in the form of royalties or passive income. Welfare, is one example. Being the head of a company, is another.

In or on the 11th – You make money from friends, associates, and networks such as BIA’s, networking functions, local business centers. Would get campaign or fundraising money. As well as your wishful thinking.  The Secret — power of positive thinking! Making money from the universal mind, or just the universe!

In or on the 12th – You make money from institutions such as prisons, psychiatric, or medical facilities. You make money from the mentally or spiritually wounded, and the hidden (anonymous or locked up and disenfranchised people). You make money from charities — as in, also receiving charity.

Please help this list be more specific by adding which house your VENUS resides, and who you make money from. :)

Marriage Around the Zodiac: Part 1, Initiating & Developing Desire for Getting Married – The Houses

What the cosmos (Planets, Stars, God, Gods, Goddesses, etc) teach us about being ready for, getting, and being married — through astrology!

Part 1

Marriage starts in the house of self, the first house (Aries, Mars). This is the house where we learn to express ourselves, get our needs met, and figure out, “What do I want”? We also develop a style through our clothes, mannerisms, and how we sound that will attract our ideal partner. A good head on our shoulders, will take us far. And the physically fitter, active, and assertive you are — the more ease you’ll have in finding a partner.

Then in the 2nd house (Taurus, Venus) we build our resources (financial, and physical), as well as develop our self-esteem and values. This is the house where we learn to love and value ourselves, and what we own — a necessity for co-existing healthily with another (Libra, Venus). This is also the house of self-sex. Sex with ourselves.

This leads us to the third house — the house of communication and short distance traveling.

Often, if you’re interested in getting married — it’s a good idea to have frequent visits, with prospects, closer to home as long distance relationships (9th house) often fall through, or don’t go through a healthy dose of face-time (Gemini, Mercury). We also often a lot of talking or communicating as we learn about the other.

Meeting online (element of air) such as email, Twitter, Facebook, a personal ad site; at a coffee shop; taking a walk in our neighborhood; having blind-dates that our match maker siblings, co-workers, and neighbors set us up with; and getting to know people in your hood are all ways to increase visibility and communication with marriage prospects. You might even introduce your prospects to 3rd house people (who didn’t match make you) such as your siblings, neighbors, co-workers, etc. — to get the Yay or Nay.

In the 4th (Cancer, Moon),  you start spending time with a prospect in your home — where you can show a bit of your character and background, photos, memorabilia, artifacts, be in your natural surroundings, and relax. This might also be a time where you’ll introduce a prospect to your parents — overlapping the 5th.

As you spend more time in each other’s natural surroundings, you become closer (5th house) and might end up dating. This is where you take the risk of falling head over heels in love with someone.  You enjoy little getaways, recreational pursuits, hobbies together, and you take a gamble on your romance. But here, everything is happy and fun.  You feel a little silly, and kind of like a kid again — with butterflies in your stomach!

In the 6th, you get to learn about each other’s daily work and health habits. This is the house that will make or break your relationship.  This is the house of “no fun”.  It is the house of what has to get done — what’ you’ll bother or not bother to get done. You ask yourself: Do we have the same or a similar lifestyle? Can I live and sleep with this person? Is that quirk (Aquarius, exalted in Mercury), bad habit, or ritual (Vesta) going to annoy (Virgo) me down the road?

Between the 6th and 7th houses, a couple may negotiate living conditions. And it’s here where each person decides if how the other person lives is a better or worst way to go. You’ll either find co-operation or you won’t.

Even if you don’t have the same recreational pursuits — if you feel like your boyfriend or girlfriend can mirror or reflect (Libra, 7th house) your own habits — you’ll feel like you’ve found the one. You say to yourself: Our two, is actually a one — we’re two peas in a pod. We are in synch, and are a harmonious couple. Our vibrations are raised through our similarities. You both say:  Through marriage, we will become stronger and we will be a unified force — creating a committed and loving partnership (Libra, Venus) that will ease our personal struggle and further our independent ambitions (Aries, 1st house — opposite the 7th) of shared mutual goals.

Stay tuned for Part 2: Marriage Around the Zodiac: Getting and being Married – The Houses (8-12, then around the bend again… Part 3)

The 2nd House: Self-Esteem and Making Money

The 2nd House: Self-Esteem and Making Money

Making money through your own efforts improves self-esteem.

Employees who are Taurean in their approach to their work, come out ahead.

Putting in a mediocre or less than your best event reduces self-esteem.

Work diligently, persevere, don’t allow yourself to be misused, dedicate yourself to amassing resources, stabilizing, and securing. Share your wealth, and your self-esteem will grow.

Synastry: Improving Human Relations w/ Astrology — the AC (1st house) & DC (7th house)

I’ve come across astrologers saying that person A’s Ascendant on person B’s Descendant makes for a good fit, but it wasn’t until tonight that I realized why.

Basically it goes like this: The 7th house is about what we need from others, and what we project onto them as doing or not doing.

7th house others, can be: romantic partners, a school-mate, a best friend, a business associate, etc. — basically someone we are strongly committed too by verbal, written, or action-oriented contract (for example).

If you don’t have a partner in life, who has their AC on your DC, you’ll probably be left wanting.  You’ll probably even find that your partner (if you have one) wants you to do your DC for them but are in no way prepared or interested in doing that for you — snubbing reciprocity, and fairness.

Example: I have Cancer on the DC. I find that my partners are often needy, and emotional.  Fact is, I am too.  I notice that they need or desire mothering, and nurturing.  The fact is, I ALSO want to be mothered and nurtured.

The 7th house is the house where we tend to want (subconsciously) to have our conscious actions to be mirrored (by the way, the reverse is true here! An insidious house this is), and where we can be co-dependent given that Venus Libra, and Juno naturally rule the house.

When we don’t get our DC needs met through our partner(s), we reduce our effectiveness and can feel unloved. In my case, it also causes emotional anxiety, instability, and uncertainty due to the at-home Moon sign of Cancer being on my DC. So…

Tip: Do your AC for others, and your DC for yourself.

Example: I have Cancer on the DC. I need to make MYSELF comfy, and give myself a dose of self-care. It is better not to put this kind of focus onto another, especially when they haven’t done so for me first, or haven’t asked for it.

It may seem selfish (Aries) at first, to use your DC traits on yourself when it’s natural to do it for others (Libra), but it’s what will ultimately create balance and harmonize the Aries-Libra polarity.

It’s also what will keep you honest. The fact is — you secretly want others to give you those DC traits and you’re or you’ve been role modeling in hopes that it will come back to you (and rarely will it, unless your partner’s AC is on your DC or some other signature mimics it). And if you’re unattached, you’ll want to take care of yourself so that you can a) attract healthy partners, and b) feel satisfied. “Have a relationship with yourself”.

To further harmonize and balance this polarity — and still do for others, you can share your ascendant qualities freely and without the pain that comes with sharing your descendant qualities.  That’s because you just do the ascendant really well.  In fact, you may not even know you’re doing it because it comes so naturally to you. It’s like a baby who may be unaware of its own body, being that Aries is the natural sign on the ascendant and is the baby of the zodiac. So it’s not going to hurt you to share this with others because you already posses these qualities in spades (unlike the descendant qualities that you feel were, has, or are missing and that you secretly hope to get resolved through another)!

So what can you give without hurting yourself?

Example: With Capricorn on my ascendant, I can share my Capricorn traits freely and naturally:

I can and do encourage self-management, seriousness, responsibility, productivity, organization, and dedication to one’s craft, or work. I provide jobs, and pay people. I inspire goal making. I give business advice. And I share my living example that the vow of in sickness and in health is not just an empty promise, or one to take lightly — it’s a commitment to honor, and is honorable.

I don’t need to gain any of this through someone else. I already possess these skills, and traits. I am not in need here. And when I provide this to my partners (committed others), I feel more empowered and stronger in my own life, and business.

What is better to give more to yourself (the descendant) than to others? What can you give (your rising sign qualities, the AC), with glee, to others?

Natal Astrology: Venus Conjunct Saturn in the 7th House

I was looking through search terms today and saw: Venus Conjunct Saturn in the 7th House.

Since I have a lot of Venus, Saturn, 7th house, and Conjunction signatures I thought I’d offer a little blurb in case you come around looking for this information.

I suspect this is related to a love relationship, so that’s the direction I’ll take it (as it’s the most usual interest for natives when viewing the 7th house).

Basically this combination (the signs will also make a difference, by the way) says in predictive story-form:

You’ll have a pleasant relationship with an older or mature partner.  You may also be the older or mature partner, who is also quite pleasant and loving.

It’s likely to take you some time to settle down and find your ‘true love’ but when you do, you’ll not take the relationship lightly and will attract a long-lasting partner.  Your partnership will be bound by duty and fairness.

You can bring and receive great financial rewards in your relationship but you may also suffer hardships until you and your partner learn how to combine your resources with restraint and prudence while allowing money to bring more happiness into your relationship.

This is not an exhaustive description (just something off the top of my head) nor does it put the aspect / house placement much into perspective (at least, in my eyes).

For example, if you have Venus-Jupiter poorly aspected — you may feel especially despondent about whether you’ll ever find or be happy in a committed relationship.  But if it’s harmoniously aspected, you will have had many opportunities to partner but have held out!

Astrology: Neptune in the 10th – Visionary of Future, Future Trends

While Uranus is connected with both the now and the future and bases future trends on what’s happening now; Neptune sees beyond those future trends.

What Neptune sees is baseless to Saturnian beings. Neptune doesn’t base future trends on current happenings.  What Neptune sees does not currently exist but it will eventually.

Strong Neptunian natives see trends way before most people even have an inkling about them. In fact, other people might think their theories and visions are crazy because it’s not packaged in today’s materials!

Neptune in the 10th is at least 10 years ahead. Neptune in the 10th is a visionary of Future, Future Trends.

If you have this placement, consider a career in forecasting or strategy especially if your MC or Neptune is in Scorpio! ;P

Also take a page from Uranus and try to reel your predictions in to what the people can use today and in the near future while nurturing your future, future predictions for those people and organizations that are very long range planners (Virgo opposite Pisces!).

Which House Rules Prostitution In Astrology?

I was looking at the search terms that came in today for Astrogasm and one of them was this: Prostitution 6th house matter.

Please see some astrology research. It’s interesting to note that the astrology found Capricorn (10th house), Leo (Sun), 7th house (Venus), and Venus in Virgo (6th) as showing up quite often in the 166 charts they did.

I hadn’t remembered writing anything about prostitution in the 6th so I did a Google search and came across Elsa Elsa’s board (what’s new?! The woman is the Queen of Astrology on the Internet. ;-).

Anyway, this is the question a forum member posed and I decided to answer it:

Which house rules prostitution in astrology?

http://boards.elsaelsa.com/topic/which-house-rules-prostitution

@Mina I could totally see Venus Capricorn being a prostitute, as a profession.  Why?  Because Capricorn is the natural sign on the 10th house and Venus is the natural sign on the 2nd house.  These are the ‘career’ houses.

Venus Capricorn has a love of money and stability [and choose ambitious lovers].

And Venus Capricorn is like Venus-Saturn.  Having said that, not all Venus Capricorn, Venus-Saturn natives are or will be prostitutes nor will they fall in love with someone ‘just’ for their money.  But they will be more interested in someone who is financially secure, if not wealthy, but being in-love will still be important.

I wrote a bit about prostitution and the 2nd here, http://www.astrogasm.com/2012/03/11/2nd-house-sex-money-self-worth-prostitution

Also the 6th will signify a type of prostitution as well, but more at the mercy of someone else’s choosing (perhaps working for a madam rather than being an independent) because I believe the 6th is the House of submission and in this house (the house of Vesta and Virgo) the prostitute will not be paid well or recognized. They will feel ‘used’, possibly enslaved.  Whereas prostitution in the 2nd house shows a talent and ability to make money from prostituting one self.

Scorpio on the 6th could signify prostitution as well.

(Adding:  Because I can see the 6th having to do with prostitution, that means the 12th is involved too but I’d like to see Venus in that house and even then…)

I’ve wrote about Venus-Pluto being more like the Dominatrix as I believe the 8th house is the House of Domination (Pluto being the natual ruler of the 8th).  So if Venus-Pluto is doing any sex for money, she’s on top! ;-)

As for Venus Virgo.  Unless she’s in the 6th, 8th, or has some interesting planets and/or aspect in (and to) the 2nd or 10th (such as Venus, Saturn, Mars, or Pluto), I can’t see her selling sex for money or otherwise.

(Adding: I could also see Leo on or Sun in the 2nd as far as being able to prostitute oneself for money and because the Sun can identify and express itself strongly with the values and themes of the 2nd house.

Other than that, it’s all water and earth houses showing up in my thoughts!!)

And again, just because one has this placement or signatures, doesn’t mean they will become a prostitute but there is an option, opportunity, or ability to do so.

And as with anything related to reading a natal chart or analyzing the complex life and possibilities of a human being, something can show in more than one place but the meaning is modified. So, with this example, prostitution isn’t indicated by only one signature.  Many different signatures can indicate the same thing in a chart but the explanation, meaning, or experience for the native will be modified.

I <3 astrology. :D

House Delineation: Capricorn on the 2nd, Saturn in the 2nd House

With Capricorn on the 2nd or Saturn in the 2nd house, natives are likely to value: Status, Symbols of Achievement, Money, Age, and Resilience (amongst other things).

This native wants to amass and hold onto wealth, would do best working in executive or leadership positions but often find themselves doing work that is beneath them. But in many ways, this is due to the native limiting opportunities for achievement and authority (out of fear of success) so they undermine themselves and often attempt to stay in their comfort-zone.

They feel most comfortable and able to stay in-love for long periods with a secret desire to dominate or control their partner and having their partner carry out their needs and interests. In fact, they might even attempt to buy attraction or love with the stuff they’ve acquired. Money can’t buy love? Saturn on or in the 2nd would likely disagree. However, its best they learn to get their own needs met, be more self-sufficient, self-managed, and earn love through merit.

In youth, people can take advantage of these natives as they tend to have money or resources tucked away and others want to make use of that.  In older age (after being mistreated in this way) they can become stingy with their hard-earned money, and can feel used and unhappy if someone else (especially young people) depend on their money for sustenance.

It’s important for this native to not become cold but rather to encourage others to make their own way, with their leadership.

These natives may feel like it’s a struggle to get ahead and they can never reach their love, status, and money dreams. But the fact is, they will eventually reach their goals with time, goal-setting, and ambition. Also by letting other people help them. It’s important that they know they don’t have to go it alone and to learn to believe in the ability for other people to get the job done well or even better than the native.

Unfortunately, over time these natives can whittle away their self-esteem and get depressed if their position, what they own, or how much money they have — is seen as not enough.  And they can belittle, blame, or diminish others if they feel that they got in the natives way of achieving their kind of success.

Saturn in the 2nd can indicate a native who earns a living and self-esteem through having a structured, focused, and disciplined mentality. In older age, with determined ambition and taking responsibility for their own actions, they are able to obtain all the personal wealth and status symbols that they desire.

These natives are most suited to earning a living in a solid and hierarchical industry such as big business, show-biz, government, and banking; however, if the Aquarius energy is running through their Saturn, they may work in industries that value science, technology, or teaching. They may find work very stressful as they feel they have little authority to get jobs done and save money in the way they see best.

To learn more about the 2nd house, visit my in-depth astrology blog.

Please also note, this is a small superficial blurb.  I welcome your additional insights and/or corrections in the comment section, especially if you have this placement.  And this delineation is based mostly on lack of awareness of the house.  If the native is conscious to house themes and has been working on challenges, everything I’ve said may not or no longer be true for the 2nd house Saturn native.

And just like looking at only the eye of a person won’t tell you what the rest of their face looks like or how that eye fits in with the rest of the face, delineating a small astrological part doesn’t give the whole and necessary picture of how that part fits in with the rest of the chart.

This is why it’s important to read the whole chart and not rely on delineations like this, as the rest of the chart modifies the meaning.

Mercury-Pluto-Mars & Intellectual Dominance

Someone once called me intellectually dominating. When I think of that, I think of Mercury Conjunct Pluto, Pluto in or on the 3rd or 9th houses.

I don’t have any of that but I do have Mars on the 3rd house and Mercury in the 8th (Mercury Conjunct Pluto) so there’s a touch of that, for sure.

However, as much as I’m Saturnian, the most aspected planet for me is Venus and she’s aspected pretty well.  She wants harmony, balance, and sweet nothings.

Mind you, the only planet she doesn’t aspect is Mercury! :P So I wasn’t born to have smooth conversations with others.

I’m pretty sure I was born to challenge judgmental, closed thoughts, and opinions.  And to shake up beliefs (Jupiter Conjunct Uranus and Uranus Conjunct Pluto, by house analysis).

Here’s the thing: I imagine I come off as intellectually dominating when the other person is asserting themselves forcefully (aka arrogance) or presenting the material as a matter-of-fact about a topic they seem not to have researched or know well. If they were Venusian, in their approach, it’s unlikely I’d pull the Mercury-Mars-Pluto card.

While I respect the thoughts and opinions of others, I will often fearlessly assert my thoughts on a subject and yes, I’ll smack you down in a debate if you go there with me, I’m up for it, or I’m not injecting enough Venus into my day.

So yes, I’m smart and yes, I’ll enter into debate about things I know or have experienced so I’m not to be underestimated. And that can be frustrating for someone who seeks a lesser mind. O-o  But I’ll open my ears to what I don’t know and welcome new input.

Funnily enough, the person who said I was this way has Mars in their third (Mercury Conjunct Mars), Uranus on the cusp (Mars Conjunct Uranus), and Saturn Leo in the 9th (Sun Conjunct Saturn) and my Sun and Mars is in Leo! Um…. Projection and suppression anyone?! :P

I <3 astrology. Logic, at its best!

As a side note, you’ll find many writers, and communicators (who have a stranglehold on information in their industry) have prominent Mercury-Mars-Pluto configurations.  That’s because if anyone comes in with new material that goes against or doesn’t support what they’ve said, they’ll try to smack that person down.

The 7th House & Sun Leo, Mars, Aries

The 7th House: Committed & withdrawn relationships, Contracts & obligations, Projection & ownership, Giving & getting, Attraction & Retraction, Conflict & co-operation, Domination & submission, Self & Other Development

In this blog, I find it best to mostly write about my personal and professional experiences when sharing astrological insights. It flows better and faster. Hope that’s welcome.

I have my Sun Conjunct Mars in Leo in the 7th house.  I might as well be a supercharged fire sign because this aspect is like being an honorary Aries and Martian and I’m already a Leo.

I can see why they say Sun Conjunct Mars can ooze sex appeal (David Bowie!).  However, I’m not as self-oriented as this aspect might suggest because it’s in the natural house of Libra, which is just the other side of the coin of Aries.  I’m also a good sport, if the other is too.  However, if the other goads at my loss — I’ll want to smite them! So play nice.

Also, while I’m an extremely sexual / sensual being, I have a stellium in the 8th in Virgo (with Venus being in there) so I’m not sex-crazed in the classic sense. My Virgo gives Leo a dose of humility, chastity, and honor.  Again, this is why I’d have to read your chart to see how (for example) Sun Conjuct Mars affects you personally.

I’m not a typical Leo in that historically other is just as important as self, if not more-so. But it also means that I have tended to be happiest taking a leadership or creative role in any partnership, while continuously encouraging and requesting equality, input, and assertivness (getting needs met) from the other (and that includes clients!).

Whenever you have planets in the 7th, relationships become a heightened theme for you and partnering, being in a committed relationship, and getting married is almost a given. What’s in your 7th, decides your partnering fate.

With Mars in the 7th, I attract a lot of different things to me. Given it’s also the house of projection, it’s hard to sort out what is mine and what is theirs.  And who initiated an action, thought or, feeling first. Thankfully, my Virgo stellium keeps me in check and honest as well as holding a mirror to the other person when they’d like to suggest I’m the only one who has an edge.

However Mars in the 7th or Aries on the 7th house cusp can cause the native to be aggressive, assertive, active, competitive, sexual, passionate, and initiating action.  But it can also cause the same in return, especially when the native asserts themselves in anything Aries related.  Even non 7th house Mars people, who are normally more docile, can get their back up with a 7th house Mars partner.  In fact, they can incite a similar Martian response.  Remember that Mars in the 7th is in the house of Libra and Libra likes to mirror – hence the projection.

We all have Mars and Aries in our charts and with a 7th house Mars, that energy gets directed into 7th house themes.

It’s kind of a damned if you do and damned if you don’t scenario in that a Mars in the 7th is limited in how they want to naturally express themselves before the boomerang effect gets ignited.

I personally strive for conscious self-awareness.  I opt for co-operative sports and games with partners.  I do my best not to play against my partners.  And when I play on my own, I do my best to have horse blinders on (after scoping out what’s there) and just do my own thing. But I can also be too cocky sometimes and the occasional statements of “I won” (in a non-partner thing, that is) is something I really have to keep in check.

I also like strong characters who will stand up for themselves and if they didn’t before I met them, they will after knowing me for awhile.  And that’s one gift a Mars in the 7th can give to others, if they allow that to happen.

Having said all this, people (readers and witnesses to my work, even) can become competitive — even  clients sometimes .  I think this is due to my Sun inspiring their confidence.  If she can do it, I can too. Or I want to do what she’s doing.  She appears more powerful and greater than I.  I want to be greater. Unfortunately with Mars hanging out with the Sun, I can have people get competitive with me and that’s not something I enjoy at all.  I support the star in every person.

But let me tell you something…  Sun Conjunct Mars is no wall-flower.  We work crazy-hard — too hard.  Often, nothing is handed to us on a platter for us (Aries, self-directed!).  You get to see the end result but the hours, effort, and sacrifice, you probably don’t.  Our success doesn’t come cheap. So when we have someone ride our coat-tails and get the rewards, we generally don’t like it.

And also know that I’m constantly in awe at the brilliance of others.  In other words, I’m not thinking that I’m more powerful or greater than anyone else.

Leo is in domicile with the Sun for a reason.  Positive Leos appreciate, enjoy others marketing, belief in themselves, and their starshine.  While I wouldn’t probably date a Leo man, I do love watching them dance like a peacock. It gives me great joy to see them feel so good about themselves.  I rarely perceive it as arrogance, an oft thoght of word from non-Leos when thinking about Leos.

So if you find yourself getting your back up, feeling competitive, etc., know it’s probably my Mars in the 7th and try to be gentle.  It’s an opportunity to connect with your own competitive, aggressive, fearless, and sexual nature. Also, just let me know.  Seriously, it’s okay. Be real.  Be authentic.  I F-up, a lot.  I just realized I did that tonight when I mentioned I had done something one year before someone else.  It wasn’t to discount their success though I can very well see it could be taken that way (as competitive).  It was my Virgo being precise and my desire to say: Hey, I relate.

But in saying that, I will absolutely tell you that I AM competitive but generally with myself. As in, I like to break my own records and do my own thing. And the worst thing that a Sun Conjunct Mars native can do is watch what anyone else is doing.  Always, always either a) applaud the greatness of others or b) don’t look! ;)

Sun Conjunct Mars has been my biggest problem in life until astrology came along to let me know what the problem was!  It was really hard to get my head around.  And many Mars in 7th can’t believe or accept that they might be inciting aggressive and competitive behaviour in others.  We’d rather think it is the other.  But that’s the case with projection and the 7th house.  And before any non-Mars person gets smug (smile) we ALL project.  We ALL have a 7th house.  And we ALL, at some point or another have thought:  He or She did it.  It’s them.  They’re the unreasonable quack-job.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news:  You’re a quack job too. ;P

Now back to Mars in the 7th.  It’s like having Mars Conjunct Venus so the opportunities to get jiggy with someone else (very early in life too) is quite immense.  And with the Sun in there, you’re shining your warm and light on your partners.  They get a happy pill if they can keep you happy and not meet your assertiveness with a counter-attack.

Well this got a whole lot longer than I expected!! I have a lot to say about this aspect and placement because it hasn’t been easy on me and I have been determined to make it a completely positive experience for myself and hopefully, you too.  So I’ll be doing a series on the 7th house, over time.

Busy day today.  Much love, happiness, and success to all! ★ ♥ ★

The 9th House: How & What You Teach

What’s in your 9th house or the sign on your 9th house cusp? This is what you can and DO teach others.

And to remind: We ALL teach somebody, somewhere. Even if it’s not formal and at a blackboard.

Uranus in the 9th, Libra

I found this description of Uranus in the 9th, bang-on!

My Uranus is in Libra. I often prefer teaching one-on-one but I can work with groups too. Maybe that’s because I have Jupiter Libra, in the 9th as well.

Also, Libra is related to languages and I believe astrology, tarot, and numerology are just that — languages!

Uranus here does not readily accept ideas and rebels against being told what to believe. They may resist a number of higher education establishments, unless the teachers are open minded, progressive and enlightened. The individual may also be interested in studying Uranus related subjects – Science, sociology, computers, astrology and astronomy. Those with Uranus in the 9th house often encounter exciting teachers, and similarly this person is considered a highly stimulating and electric educator.

More than any other placement this individual is interested in the truth of the system. – read more at The Astrology Place

If you seek a dynamic teacher who doesn’t teach out of someone else’s book, I’m your Gal.

Currently connecting you with your innate knowledge of astrology, tarotnumerology, and relationship skills.

My Uranus contacts are Sun Septile Uranus, Mercury Semi-sextile Uranus, Venus Conjunct Uranus (Venus rules my 9th house), Saturn Sesquiquadrate Uranus (yup! haha), Uranus Opposition Chiron, and Uranus Square AC. My Jupiter contacts are Venus Semi-sextile Jupiter, Jupiter Semi-sextile Neptune, Jupiter Trine North Node, and Jupiter Quintile Ascendant.

On the flip-side, I have Mars (Aries) on the third house cusp and Chiron resides within. And Mars is Trine Chiron. So I will push for your voice to be heard.

The 11th House

The 11th house is one of the hardest houses for me to connect with on a deep level.  I wrote about the house.  In fact, I wrote a lot about it.  I probably did that because I was trying to get a handle on what it means.  I know I sometimes wished I had my Moon there but then I probably wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing.  What seems like a simple Moon change, would totally change my world and even how I look.  Hmmmm.

Life Skills: Trying Different Things Out

I think I try a lot of different things because a) I have Gemini on the 5th and 6th house cusps, b) I like to try my hand at a lot of different things just because it’s fun, and c) It’s a great way to figure out if I have any talent in anything or if something works well. haha…

So don’t be shy. Take a page from me. Make lots of mistakes, maybe even a fool of yourself.

Even if you don’t think you’re good at something, try it anyway and share it. See if people like it. If they don’t, maybe don’t spend as much time on it ;-P or if you love it badly, spend even MORE time developing it.

Aspect, Planet, Sign Delineation: Many Ways to Read Astrological Signatures

As many astrologers would agree, one aspect or signature does not tell the full tale.

How could someone who loves to sing (me!) actually sound good (maybe) if they don’t have the classic aspects for a vocalist — Sun Conjunct Venus or Mercury, and Venus Conjunct Mercury?!

Well, my Venus is in Virgo and it goes like this:

* Venus in the 6th or 3rd
* Mercury in the 7th or 2nd
* Venus Conjunct Vesta
* Venus Conjunct Mercury

Phew, all from one planet and one sign combination!

Getting to Venus Conjunct Mercury, with this method, shows that I have underdeveloped singing talent!

I may not become a superstar vocalist but I do have it in the astrological DNA or as a signature, though hidden! And it’d be better if it were Venus Gemini (as Mercury has a stronger rulership over that sign)! But with practice, and training I might be able to sing where people aren’t trying to run away from my sound. Ha ha.

Or I might be able to become a one hit wonder (coming out of nowhere, the underdog!). :-)

As probably can be discerned, one aspect or astrological signature can open the reader and seeker to so much more. That’s one reason why astrology is complex (yet simple, at the same time).

When I tell you that I have Venus Virgo, you know at least FOUR things about me (see the bullets!).

You know that I:

* love to talk and communicate with all sorts of people.
* love to serve and I am a devoted lover.
* make money from communicating.
* value health related things such as fitness, organic and natural food, etc.
* talk a lot to my partners and business associates.
* frequent communication, speaking, etc. is part of my daily habit or work.
* show my love to others when they are sick and that I am loved, when I am sick. Also that I get love-sick and love can sicken me! But I love to shower my love on to a partner, everyday! Yeah, I’m an affectionate PDA kind of Gal. ;P

Oh shoot, that’s more than four things (dang houses)!! And it’s still a superficial delineation.

Now with my Venus being in the 8th, I have a deep Plutonic vibe.  I write my own songs and I’ll sing about themes that are often deeply painful or dark in tone (if you discover the underlying occult meaning, that is).

So, I’m not finished with my bullet points yet — with Venus in the 8th, I also have Venus Conjunct Pluto!!

Get more out of reading aspects, planet and sign, charts… feel it, know it, own it.

If there are duplicate or triplicate signatures (ie You have Venus Virgo in the 6th), you’ll know there’s a powerful theme going on — take note.

Here’s another one…

Venus Capricorn is like:

* Venus in the 10th
* Saturn in the7th or 2nd
* Venus Conjunct Saturn

Now, you try it.  Take any planet and break it down.  If you want more of an explanation, reply.  Heh, reply anyway.  It’s nice to know people are reading and if you want it to show up on your twitter timeline, just hit the ‘bird’ image before posting!

Where’s Your Mars? What Do You Ignite For Others?

Where’s your Mars? What do you ignite others to act upon or be assertive and self-oriented? For me, my Mars is in the 7th. I inspire others to assert themselves in partnership with me. I encourage partners to get their needs met while meeting the needs of the other. The style (Leo) in which I do this is dramatic, animated, dominant, warm, and friendly.

Aspect Delineation: Putting a Planet, Sign, & House Together

1. The PLANets have “plans” for us. That’s easy to remember because the word PLAN is part of the word planet.

2. Signs indicate the style of carrying out a plan [whether that is natural house ruler or planetary]. The sign is like a signature and it says something about the personality and nature.

3. When two or more planets get together they ask us to ‘do something’ extra special.  This is called an aspect. I like to think of it as the type of conversation the planets are having and how it affects us.  Yes, we can be worked like marionettes down on Earth.

4. The planets are quite specific in where and what they want us to do and how they want us to do it.

The house(s) that the planets reside within and the signs that are connected to the house, determine what and where we will carry out the plan.

Update: The sign on the cusp of the house tells us the style in which we display the natural house ruler (planetary) concerns.

For example, Mercury is in Virgo but Aries is on my 3rd house cusp so my style of communication is direct, fast, assertive, fearless, bold, etc.. And I like to talk about health, analysis, facts, the details, daily activities, working, etc.

The 8th House in Virgo: House of Privacy, Intuition, and Intimacy

Some peeps are just going to have to go through the Plutonian fire wheel of tests before they are let in.

They can scream paranoia and too private all they want;  but 8th house, Scorpio, Pluto, Virgo stellium people — don’t buy what they’re selling.  Their intuition is not as sharp (don’t easily believe the lies people often tell themselves) nor is their integrity.

A certain level of privacy is important to me. Intimacy is something that is earned over time, and given when comfort is there. Many people do not understand or care about the fragility of others.  They often do not hold the secrets of others very well.  A well-adjusted 8th house person  does, especially a Virgo stellium in the 8th house.  The gravity of some people’s casual and random intrusion is often not understood by them. I get that they believe they’re being harmless, but they’re not. If a person has a depth of character and sensitivity, their spirit can be easily screwed with.

Anyone who respects someone else would not be so readily and bossily nosy when they have no right, connection, invitation, or privilege to do so.

Pestering ought to be met with rudeness if nosy people try to move past boundaries! In the past, I would have felt it wrong to be rude but some people do not take a simple “no, I’m not comfortable sharing that” with graciousness. Today, I recognize the other person is being rude so being rude back is fine if that’s what is needed to get the point across.

The other annoying thing is that people who are nosy and have an expectation for you to share your secret bits, often are quite secretive themselves and have little intention of reciprocating the one way telephone conversation.  Go figure!  The world is backwards!

Goading anyone into telling you their secrets is not the way to open them up; it’s classless.

The best way to deal with that classlessness is to give them some of their medicine and pester them about sharing something personal about themselves.  Watch how fast they try to squirm out of it or lack disclosing anything of importance to them (similar to of what has been asked of you).

I see people. I see you.  That’s what I do for a living. See. If I don’t openly call you on your crap, there’s a good chance I’m just being Venusian.

p.s. Celebrities, and people who earn a large chunk of their living from public affairs, are by the nature of what they do, often exempt from a certain level of prying by the general public and commentators.  It’s not really the same thing when reporters, etc. are trying to get the story of their lives out of them or is it??

The 6th House: Being Sick But Still Being Able to Do Your House Thing…

After about two weeks of aches, pains, and chills, I’m finally feeling more like myself.

What many find strange is that I am often still able to communicate in one way, shape, or form — even if I’m feverishly sick. And I can do errands of a short distance as well — mind you, I often have felt like I was in a fog while doing it! Gee, I even once worked through pneumonia until it got really bad and I had to finally take the time off to recover.

The last couple of weeks on Astrogasm is an example of continuing to communicate, while feeling sick. However, a lot of the posts were (and will continue to be) from something I wrote previously — many unpublished. What I considered a stub from another blog, has become a full-on post in this blog. This is so Gemini, 5th / 6th house, which means I get a lot of joy publishing in this blog on a daily basis. And many of the posts were /are scheduled. But I still got my word out, even though I was sick.

Anyway, I think the reason why I can still communicate (knock on digital wood) under the influence, is that I have Gemini on the 6th. What does go down the tube is focus, accuracy, speed, and consistency. Anything that takes effort to think about, isn’t going to get done or will take much longer than it normally does.  I’m also often ‘out of verbal and cerebral character’ when sick.

So that makes me wonder: What sign is on your 6th? Do you find you can still do that 6th house thing even though most people would find it odd given you’re sick?

The Second House (2nd House): Prostitution, Sex, Money, Self-Worth, etc.

Just had a chat with one of our ‘event readers’. We were talking about self-worth and money. I was talking about how a lot of organizers don’t value our service (because readers, worldwide don’t) and it’s difficult to go over this year after year as to why our service is valuable and why we are worth our professional fee.

Anyway, that snapped me over to the 2nd house. A house that relates to money we earn, beauty, value, sensuality, etc.

The house of Taurus places value on things and that’s why our self-esteem gets affected and ties in with 2nd house issues: Being highly valued, increases our self-esteem.

The 2nd house is also where we find our personal security. Again, it’s often through money, sex, and beauty that we possess. When we don’t have these things, we are likely not to feel secure in our world.

With Taurus on its cusp, and being ruled by Venus — the prostitute archetype came to mind. And many of us have heard quips about ‘prostituting’ ourselves or selling our soul for work, to get accepted as being worthy.

The reader and I talked about how money is often the ‘value’ exchange in today’s world but anything can be exchanged to earn our keep: sex, love, beauty, etc.

When organizers ask us to work for free, readers ought to ask for a ‘tax receipt’ or something else that acknowledges the readers value and that is also something the organizer values. Without it, the organizer can and will not value the reader.

But if the organizer acknowledges the reader’s worth through something they do not value themselves, the energy exchange is null and void. There must be the Libran (Venus) win-win for the 2nd house to be balanced karmically.

If a community or organization has already done something for a reader, telling them how much the service is worth lets them know what you have essentially, paid back.

A debt repaid, and giving back to one’s community, etc. increases self-worth and personal security. Let us not suggest this behaviour is only altruistic and sacrificial (6-12th axis) because it often isn’t. And if it is, there’s a hefty price that you pay.

Which got me thinking… I often say that tarot is 12th house, Neptunian material and this also collaborates my story in how difficult it is to get organizers (for parties) to regard our work when so many tarot readers are making a ‘sacrifice’ in devaluing their work by giving it away for free (ie not asking for tax receipts, etc.) — essentially, telling organizers that we need to pay and serve ‘them’!

Perhaps many tarot readers are paying back a karmic debt in this lifetime but that’s not my path nor the path of the readers who work with us! Ours is to gain self-respect, self-worth, and value!

I have an intercepted Pisces-Virgo 2nd house which is likely to account for why the oft traditional ‘sacrifice’ is being intercepted and has been replaced by a revolutionary spirit in this matter, having Aquarius (Uranus) on the 2nd house cusp.  My North Node Pisces resides inside the 2nd!

What do you have and what does that mean to you? What makes you feel valued and valuable?

Celebrity Astrology Reading: Stevie Nicks – Children & Marriage

This image was taken from AstroTheme. Please go there to get more detail on the chart, etc.

Stevie Nicks Natal Chart

From Wikipedia:

In a 1989 interview, Stevie gave personal insight as to the meaning of Rooms on Fire:

Rooms on Fire is about a girl who goes through a life like I have gone through, where she finally accepts the idea that there never will be those other things in her life. She will never be married, she will never have children, she will never do those [that] part of life.

We all have our own path, our own karma. Children, spouses, and the traditional trappings isn’t for everyone. I’m just thoroughly impressed that Stevie Nicks knew this or got an astrology consultation to make her aware of it — maybe she even gave herself an astrology consultation.

No children is indicated by Saturn and Pluto in her 5th house but it’s made more difficult by being conjunct. Leo is also one of the barren signs. You would think that wouldn’t be the case since Leo is playful and child-like but that’s exactly why Leo on the 5th house cusp can cause barrenness. That placement suggests the native is a child themselves and can not be responsible. And any child she would have had (probably a boy) would quite possibly have died.

In regards to lack of marriage, in her romance and dating house (the progression from dating to marriage) she more than likely had destructive romances that tested her will (Mars Conjunct Pluto). In her 8th house (House of Domination) she has South Node Conjunct Chiron (I use wide orbs). Marriage wounded her in a past life and continues to wound her. Neptune (which is square her Venus) is near this house cusp (the 6th house, House of Submission) and it’s here where she would attract men of addiction, fantasy, and illusion. In fact, she would likely have this as part of her nature as well — perhaps wanting to be Cinderella and finding her Prince but no mere mortal man could ever be a true fairytale Prince. With the house cusp having the sign in Libra, we have a house that is ruled by Venus and Juno. Any committed partnership could be met with mind games and mental abuse.

She did marry but it was for convenience and surrounding a long time chronic illness of her friend (she married her friend’s widow) – see South Node Conjunct Chiron in the 8th.  Perhaps it was a karmic debt repaid..

Astrology: About Interceptions

Interceptions: “I have never yet had a client with an interception who wasn’t mastering their karmic failure and giving the gift indicated by the interception.” Aquarian Essence

“…The intercepted house polarity is the part of consciousness that the native feels like a complete failure about, when it is in fact the part of themselves that is developing the most.” Barbara Hand Clow

My rising sign is Capricorn. Pisces and Virgo are intercepted. I have no planets, signs, asteroids, or points in Aquarius except the part of fortune. My North Node in Pisces, 2nd house. Aquarius is on my 2nd house cusp.  I have Moon, Mercury, Venus, Pluto, SN Virgo in the 8th house. I have double “Gemini/Sagittarius: Reason vs. Revelation” Mary Devlin.

“The lack of balance may be within the person’s own development or is suited to assist other’s with balancing this axis. ” Aquarian Essence

My biggest strength is deep communication (discovering), and it’s also my failure. But I feel compelled to teach others how to speak with authority, clarity, and bravery to themselves and to others (Mars on the 3rd house cusp, Chiron Aries). I don’t always do such a good job at that.

“The most important thing for a person with an interception to know is that there is no need for feeling like a failure or feeling guilty, which is often the case.” Aquarian Essence

Oh, ha, they’re good!!

Aquarian Essense says there’s a lack of communication and education that is projected on my love axis. That makes sense. Often there has been strain in regards to my daily living and working habits and the partner doesn’t communicate this to me until its too late. As I continue to read the article, AE suggests that it’s the ‘intercepted native’ that projects. In my case, I have been completely honest with lovers (as an adult) and they have deceived and lied to me. Communication of important details were not provided. So I’m not sure how that one works. Then again, I have the 5/11, 6/12 axis so that could be the difference.

“When looked at objectively, it will be clear that the axis is well on its way toward balance, especially by mid life.” Yes! Agreed.

Another interesting article from Rosicrucian.com about interceptions.

“As a result of an intercepted diameter in a chart there will be two pairs of houses covered by the same diameter. Wherever this “phenomenon” occurs, you will know that the houses concerned in this “duplication” represent experience-patterns on which the person concerned is “making up for past defaults;” Rosicrucian.com, Elman Bacher

I’d agree. I have often said: I must have done something horrible in a past life or even making wrong choices when I was younger to have to experience the communication hell I do, today. I do feel like I’m making a sacrifice and being of service because I myself, lacked communication skills and a voice when I was younger.  I also wasn’t entirely honest or had complete integrity, in my youth. (Note: the higher degree is on my 6th/12th axis and that’s where I probably have the most ‘projection’ with the polarity)

“If the second cusp is covered by the next sign in sequence, then we know that the person is destined in this incarnation to express a higher octave of quality of his past… No one ever exactly repeats a level from one incarnation to the next–upwardness is always a factor to be considered in karmic interpretation.” My intercepted sign is Pisces, I have North Node in Pisces, and Aquarius is on my 2nd house cusp.

I’ve said this about interceptions:
In some ways it feels like a stellium because it spans two house cusps. It makes talents and weaknesses overwhelming obvious. It has an intensity and overdone quality to it. The double sign indicates where prominent themes are at play. With having Gemini on the 5th and 6th house cusps, I LOVE my job. What I do for fun, I do for work. On the flip-side, what I do for work, I do for fun. So that means, I’m not always having fun or I’m not always working. A large part of my day is communicating — talking on the phone, by email, and learning. It makes me a bit of an information geek.

And after a conversation with another intercepted native (from twitter), we came to this conclusion as well:

My Aquarius energy is filtered through Pisces so I experience the emotions of an Aquarius but hidden.  It’s my Pisces heart that is electric. When I sort through my detachment and coldness and know what I think, it is often a very soft and lamb-like nature that emerges. All my Virgo signs get a Leo treatment. I am fair minded to my core but have Jupiter Libra that indicates that as well. :-) So I am creatively critical, and an analytical authority, or an authority on a subject – expert.

“…determine the possibilities of why one diameter may represent a “holding back” or a “promise of future development” in this incarnation. The duplicated diameters–when they are lined up with structure-sequence–will indicate which pair of houses represents a condition from the past that must be repeated–for complete fulfillment–in the present.” Rosicrucian.com, Elman Bacher

Here’s a link delineating the intercepted houses.

“Virgo/Pisces Axis or Sixth/Twelfth House Axis

If your Virgo/Pisces or sixth/twelfth house axis is intercepted it may take you quite some time to find a line of work which you find to be fulfilling. This disillusionment you feel in your day-to-day routine is destined to force you to question your spirituality and seek answers of a rather esoteric nature to help you better understand the life role you were born into.

You are an old soul who has experienced much in lives past and will find yourself bumping into people who you knew long ago. These rekindled friendships will add meaning to your life and keep you going during those times when you feel overwhelmed with trials.

Unfortunately, you will learn from experience that you must continually question the motives of those you meet casually because many will have agendas which are at cross purposes to your own. While secret enemies abound, these encounters will help you learn to keep your own council and look beyond the veil of the outer persona when judging a person’s true character.

You will in all probability have a part-time job or business in addition to your primary vocation which will bring you a little extra money as well as help to fulfill some of your self actualization needs.

You may at times feel as if you have heavy burdens because you will find that you have many obligations and responsibilities which keep you firmly grounded to the earth. While it can be depressing to find that you must tend to your day-to-day duties while it seems that others around you have ”

Nod!

Do you have an interception?
