As a strongly psychological, and psychic person — one of the worsts transits for me is Moon Square Chiron.
I believe we all get it at some point because the Moon cycle is frequent and at some point the Moon will land long enough on your Chiron for you to experience it.
It’s been said it lasts “only half a day” but I’ve been getting it for a couple of days. O-o
Usually I experience a psychological assault of some sort (which I don’t believe is on purpose) and then I lash out. I don’t feel good and neither does the person or people of my wrath. Astro.com labels this transit Attention, Children!
If you have this aspect, how do you deal with it? I can’t imagine living with this day after day. My Moon doesn’t even aspect Chiron.
Have you learned to bury the pain and hurt? Have you learned to shut down from people who abuse and wound you (especially if they’re not aware they’re doing it)? Have you had long-term psychological therapy to deal with your environment? Do you find yourself inadvertently wounding others due to emotional sensitivity?
At this time you have to deal with your own hurt feelings – either you are reminded of old wounds by some incident, or a sore point is disturbed again. Maybe you feel a little weak and are conscious of a certain aversion to handling the usual everyday interchanges – a feeling as if you were coming down with flu. If you now have the need to be alone, then that is what you should really do. If you make too many demands on yourself or if you are not left in peace, you may become hurtful to others – for example, your children if you are a parent – as a result of a certain indifference. Fortunately, this influence lasts at most half a day. Astro.com

Wherever your air sign planets and asteroid (Venus, Juno, Mercury, Saturn, and Uranus) are placed, shows mental clarity. Same goes for the signs Libra, Gemini, Virgo, and Aquarius.
For example, I have Mercury Virgo in the 8th so I tend to have clarity about psychological health, sex, control, accounting, trade and commerce, body works, and occult subjects. Initially this clarity is used to help other people but eventually I learn my own mind, etc. and these subjects (including the occult) to help myself.
What have you found interesting about your chart in regards to where your air signs / planets / asteroids are?
<rave>I’ve been ranting awhile about a particular business topic (nothing recent on my blogs) and my lovely-not-so-lovely squares FINALLY figured out what I need to do to get over the nonsense.
There’s a quirk customers have in that they’re always trying to find loopholes and get away with sheat no matter the consequence. I don’t find this to be decent, helpful to anyone, or showing integrity in personal and intimate relationships, even business ones. I’m not selling burgers or a pair of jeans.
But that’s okay. I figured out how to counter the obstacle. Oh yes, my Scorpio MC found a STRATEGY that will address their needs while addressing mine. And this is my motto: Get the needs of others met, while you get your needs met too.
I had to go all Saturn because I find no resolution can be completely Uranian when working with everyday folk. They have to have something to hold on to, a precedent where their sheep and flock have decided unanimously that THAT thing is the right thing and anything new must be tested, weighed, and accepted by the masses before they’ll accept it.
I can’t go into what it is that I’ve found a solution for but it’s one that the masses can’t readily turn down and one I can readily get behind with a Scorpionic smile. ;P I will say it has nothing to do with personal reading consultations. And I’ll say the reason why I have so much trouble with my Sun & Mars is that I don’t want to go down the road of Scorpio but fact is, I’m in business and Scorpio fits the bill in dealing with the games people think they need to play (social custom in business) with me but don’t really have to. So it’s harder to walk down a path of personal integrity when others are not or think you’re not.
In other words, it’s definitely hard to make money with integrity but somehow I get creative and figure it out after a LOT of verbal ranting. LOL
I think this is why I LOVE helping clients who rant about their life. Because after they’re done, they’re raving about my insights, solutions, and strategies to what was once considered a problem.
Of course, I could be wrong. My strategy might fail so I won’t be too cock-sure about it. But what I will allow myself to be, is pleased that my Sun-Mars squaring MC are good for something! ;-)
..and now go back to the drawing board to reignite my dreams — a lot of work to do but nonetheless, I’m pleased!! Woohoo </rave>
Saturn Sesquisquare Uranus: Not feeling or being grounded. Needing help and support to gain a solid and worldly perspective. Inciting an overthrow, of the establishment, with no substance. Sudden electrical problems are fixed by traditional (even, ancient) methods.

I got a ton of business communication (emails) sent off yesterday (the 23rd) and just before packing everything in for the day I wondered how I pulled it off (with joy, even) because for weeks I have been so slow in getting business communication, clearly done.
Well, guess what?! It was the last day of Mercury Rx. We’re out of the zone folks.
Let the money flow again for self-employed people (Mercury rules trade, and commerce)!
Back to business as usual with little communication misunderstandings.
More about Mercury Rx over at Cafestrology.
If you’re mulling over something inside your head but you never share that externally (especially directly to any person/s you’re thinking about), you’ve got a third of the story and you’re just having a conversation with yourself.
That conversation is often full of faulty assumptions, judgements, and hypothesis. That’s fine.
This is Step one and it means you’re thinking.
What’s not fine is when you believe what you think is true without verifying your thoughts as fact. This also can create a lot of bad vibes between yourself and others. It can also create a lot of untrue good vibes — just as dangerous, if you ask me.
Step two is asking questions and sharing your impressions with those you’re thinking about, so that you can have a proper conversation outside of your own head.
Step three is the back and forth conversation where you find a common ground of understanding, respect, and delight. This is the step that challenges your beliefs and opens you up to new insight, thought, and information.
…
The bad habit of stopping at step 1, often shows up in astrology as a luminary or planet square Neptune such as Mercury Square Neptune, and Moon or Mars Square Neptune in natal or synastry.
This bad habit is also encouraged by society because many people don’t want you to be clear on what they’re thinking, doing, feeling, or believing. So many children start off asking a lot of questions and then stop asking them after being blocked or hurt too many times. So we have a whole lot of adults running around ASSuming things without verifying their assumption as fact.
With Sun Conjunct Mars I’m luckily (or not) one of those children who never stop asking questions, even when faced with opposition. But I’m not perfect. I sometimes don’t verify my assumptions either but I have enough humility to apologize and make amends for it when that’s brought to my attention, and I kick myself for it too because I know better. Also sometimes, I have low confidence days and I just don’t have the strength to push for clarity.
…
Speaking of which — Yes, there IS an art to asking questions. If you ask in a way that is disrespectful and doesn’t keep in mind the personal boundaries of someone else, you may come off as an obtrusive interrogator or investigator (Pluto), rather than an unobtrusive discoverer or adventurer (Jupiter).
So consider your motives and relationship with whomever you’re thinking about and asking questions. And if you’re thinking about the actions and behaviours of someone who is not in your circle, you may want to bring them into your circle to have a genuine conversation — that’s if they matter enough to you.
And come to think of it, that might be another reason why people don’t ask enough questions — they just don’t give two hoots about you and care more about THEIR opinion of you and your actions, thoughts, feelings rather than what’s going on on your side!!
O-0 … that’s another post! haha
Maybe some people don’t think you’ll tell your truth if they ask you a question but that’s not really been my experience. Anyway, even if they have a tendency to lie to themselves (that’s what I have experienced) there’s step three — I don’t have to believe what they tell me but if they are good and decent people, I respect what they have to say and take it into consideration.
Thinking about aspects and planets…
Imagine a forum of people (the planets) hanging out and they are all discussing you and what they’re going to do to / with you.
You’re in a room behind a mirrored wall and you can’t see them but they can see you. They’re talking about what to do with you and there’s a game going on amongst the planets (Gods).
You’ll have some supporters (think Hunger Games), you’ll have some oppressors, and of course — you’ll have some challengers (aspects of yourself or other players in the game). Some planets won’t even bother talking about you — they’ve totally bypassed you for whatever reason, and you’re left high and dry — to your own devices as it relates to what they might want you to do. Often they leave a minion (sign on the cusp and or other celestial object) to poke at you.
In some ways, many of us humans act like puppets or (unbeknownst to us) players on auto pilot — playing out the theater of the Gods but like the Matrix, we can take the red pill and find our way, our reality.
We might even be able to beat the Gods at their own game. And if nothing else, we can at least peep through the Wizard’s curtain, find out what they have planned for us, and create the best strategy to manifest the best outcome for ourselves and those we care about.
Be the producer of your own moving picture!
Some say that certain aspects, such as the semi, mean less or are minor but I’ve experienced semi (for example) as being half . Half the time that person has the effect of a full on aspect. So if they have a semi-square, it means that half the time they have a square aspect.
A semi is just as powerful but isn’t constant. A semi is not less in effect but it is less in amount of time the full effect is experienced.
Solar Return. The Gods (the planets) MUST be satisfied. What will happen, will happen but you CAN soften the blow & learn lessons too.
What’s worst in synastry? An opposition or a square?
I think an opposition is worst because there’s such a see-saw and tug-o-war effect, the couple can be opposed to each other, and even if they manage to synch up and blend — it could go extremely in one way or the other. Whereas a square is something more manageable. Harmony can be brought to the table if both parties are willing to make some compromise and fall-back a bit. As well, the square tends to have a dynamic quality about it, a fortitude that I don’t see as clearly with the opposition.
What do you think and why?
I was looking through search terms today and saw: Venus Conjunct Saturn in the 7th House.
Since I have a lot of Venus, Saturn, 7th house, and Conjunction signatures I thought I’d offer a little blurb in case you come around looking for this information.
I suspect this is related to a love relationship, so that’s the direction I’ll take it (as it’s the most usual interest for natives when viewing the 7th house).
Basically this combination (the signs will also make a difference, by the way) says in predictive story-form:
You’ll have a pleasant relationship with an older or mature partner. You may also be the older or mature partner, who is also quite pleasant and loving.
It’s likely to take you some time to settle down and find your ‘true love’ but when you do, you’ll not take the relationship lightly and will attract a long-lasting partner. Your partnership will be bound by duty and fairness.
You can bring and receive great financial rewards in your relationship but you may also suffer hardships until you and your partner learn how to combine your resources with restraint and prudence while allowing money to bring more happiness into your relationship.
This is not an exhaustive description (just something off the top of my head) nor does it put the aspect / house placement much into perspective (at least, in my eyes).
For example, if you have Venus-Jupiter poorly aspected — you may feel especially despondent about whether you’ll ever find or be happy in a committed relationship. But if it’s harmoniously aspected, you will have had many opportunities to partner but have held out!
One of the best ways to become more accurate in your astrological predictions, is to pour through past personal charts (solar returns, progressions, transits) of yourself and people you’re close to as well as read the biographical events of celebrities that interest you.
When reading biographies select material that often highlights dates and locations. And for yourself and personal relationships, seek out diaries, journals, documents, and other recordings of events. This would be a good time to reinforce that keeping a diary, as an astrologer, is quite important to your own personal development as well updating and challenging your general astrological understanding.
We can see how the symbiosis between the cosmos and yourself manifested the very personal and specific events that happened.
Astrologers base much of their interpretative work on observation over time (if not their own, others); however, the specific details may be off because while the chances of one thing happening are ‘high’, the native always has an element of freewill where they can direct the themes and rulerships of the planets in a different direction while retaining the essence of the lesson, opportunity, gift, test, or challenge.
As well, mundane celestial events alter the general character, culture, and well-being of the masses and that also has a direct effect on the outcome of personal predictions. So in-depth astrologers are looking a large number of charts to determine an outcome. One chart, just like one aspect, will not tell you the whole story when it comes to predictions.
Predictive fear (Saturn-Neptune) can be removed and replaced with manifestation plans (Saturn-Jupiter).

It’s Taurus Season!
Taurus is the sign of grounded love, art, money, beauty, and the finer things in life (including rich food and drink!).
Taurus is resilient, persistent, and pushes through. Taurus is sensual, of the earth. Taurus is your rock, stable and unflinching in its desire.
This is a great time to reinforce or start a diet, revitalize your financial situation, and bring beauty and love into your home!
If compromises are fair and logically sound (Libra) in a relationship, they’ll be loved down the road and no one will have felt they gave anything up.
(Note: Saturn Libra is currently at 25° Rx and is opposite Sun Aries 29° and will soon be (by next week) in trine with Venus Gemini, currently at 12°. I figured I ought to check this since I’ve written so much about Venus and Saturn lately and what do you know — the planets are talking again!! :-D)
Yesterday I wrote about Saturn’s role in synastry. Today, I’ll write about one of the biggest aspects that keep lovers apart.
Since I don’t have a lot of time these days, I’ll make it quick. However, do remember that I offer professional consultations and an appointment can be set-up with me so that I can read your chart in the very personal way it’s meant to be read. It’s a treat!
“With this being my very first professional reading, Abella was very thorough in her
approach and very helpful in educating me in areas that needed to be addressed. I
felt very comfortable with her style as she has an ease about her as if I have known
her all my life. I will continue to consult with Abella and will recommend her to
fellow star gazers!” – Recent Testimonial…

Now on to my thought about Venus Square Saturn in synastry especially if there’s a twin aspect (Your Venus Squares their Saturn and vice versa).
Bottom-line? No-go for most.
Saturn in square with Venus is saying: You have responsibilities, commitments, and duty to another love. You can not get into a new relationship with Venus until your prior hardships (including financial) and karma are fulfilled.
This aspect, in synastry, is telling the Saturn person that they need to have integrity, that they may be too mature and serious for the Venus person, and that if they want Venus bad enough they’ll have to take the high road and proceed with caution and due diligence.
The Saturn person passes this message on to Venus very subtly, almost to the point of not acknowledging what’s going on between them because the Saturn person dare not suggest something out of line or they may suffer dire consequences and potentially, humiliation.
Time and patience are required. And the road is long and hard should you desire someone who has Saturn in aspect to your Venus and vice versa.
Saturn needs to be true and faithful to himself (herself) and others (Libra exalted) in order for anything to work out with Venus. Venus must not ignore this need, and test — that Saturn endures.
If you’re the Venus and you want a pretty, ideal picture of a normal relationship with a Saturn in square — you likely won’t get it in the short term (if ever).
But in the end, it’s always our choice and karma to do what we will. Just be prepared and plan for the challenges and inevitable obstacles ahead!
If you want to learn more about handling a Venus Square Saturn or ANY Venus-Saturn aspect, I’d be happy to consult with you.
In synastry, the Saturn person is there to keep and encourage the other person to: be responsible, mature, discipline, work hard, past tests, conserve, have ambition, be faithful, carry out one’s duty, endure hardships, overcome obstacles, have integrity, react somberly and humbly, budget, respect age and wisdom, be patient, persist, heal karma, restrict and suppress wants and desires in favor of meeting needs instead, and submit to experience.
If there’s a square, opposition, or other difficult aspect type — it’s the couples karma to find workable solutions. Many times, heavy Saturn (in synastry) will be seen in one or both of the natal charts. The natives karma is not to ignore relationship difficulties or pass it over for a new one (they imagine would be better) for they will encounter the pattern and will of Saturn again until they pass the test. In other words, difficult Saturn will show up in synastry again.
The Saturn partner sheds a light on what you need to mature. So instead of feeling parented by the Saturn partner, you can enact self-discipline so you self-restrict rather than feeling that your freedom is being taken away from you. Saturn is reality and this planet asks you to man and woman-up!
Venus-Saturn (in synastry) tests our love, maturity, faithfulness, integrity, etc..
Mars-Saturn (in synastry) encourages the couple to overcome obstacles, budget energy, persist in sex, assertiveness, and activity, etc.
Sun-Saturn (in synastry) keeps the ego in check, creates humility, restricts wants and desires, etc…
And so forth…
Which of your planets, points, or celestial objects does Saturn touch in synastry with another person (romantic, friend, or otherwise) and vice versa?
(It’s another LONG one. I think it’s VirgoVault time again! LOL)
Recently I wrote about the Ascendant and the 7th house, in synastry. I want to briefly mention the other two important players — the Sun and the Moon.
The Sun represents self, life force, what you create, how you lead yourself, your ego, your energy, your personality, the day time, the true you! — the 5th house.
The Moon represents the tribe, emotions, feelings, needs, instincts, memories, how you get comfortable, what makes you uncomfortable, sleep, food — the 4th house.
Wherever another person’s Sun deposits itself, it illuminates those house themes for you. So if you have Taurus on the 7th house cusp and you connect with a Taurus, they’ll be illuminating your house of partners and shining a light on your partnership interests. But they’ll also be illuminating your shadow and projected side so you may find that uncomfortable and distasteful to deal with.
But if you have the North Node in your 7th, meeting with your reflection may be exactly what you need to progress in life. (Again, this article will not give you everything I can give you in a private consultation. I am scraping the surface with these posts).
Wherever another person’s Moon deposits itself, it provides memories of ‘home baked cookies’ and feelings. So if you have Taurus on the 7th house cusp and you connect with someone with a Taurus Moon, they’ll remind you of what makes you comfortable and content in a partnership.
I have Cancer on the DC. I tend to be overly nurturing, family oriented, and will take care of my partner when they’re sick and not feeling well. But guess what?! I want that too. I want to be babied now and then. I love my partner being domestic and cooking, especially when I’ve been so fierce and active with my Leo Sun-Mars conjunction and busy at work with my Capricorn rising. I need to rest now and then and the Cancer Moon (and Leo Moon too – see further down the post) does an especially good job of doing that for me. But again, because it’s the 7th house of projections I may think the Moon, deposited in my 7th house or vice versa, is too dependent and needy when in reality (if nothing else) I am too! Ha! The 7th house burn. LOL
Depending on whether you want a stimulating or restful relationship, you may be more attracted to the Sun or the Moon of your DC (7th house cusp). Alternatively or equally, it may be the Sun or Moon that’s attracted to your 7th house cusp.
David Bowie (one of my favorite performers / artists) is a Capricorn Sun, Leo Moon, and Aquarius rising with Leo on the DC with Leo Moon-Pluto conjunction and Virgo sign inside. I’m a Leo Sun, Virgo Moon, Capricorn rising with Cancer on the DC and Leo inside (Sun-Mars). David’s Moon-Pluto Conjunction falls in my 7th house!! :-) And my Sun & Moon-Pluto conjunction falls in his 7th house (he’s got a HUGE 7th house). I’m definitely attracted to his style when I’ve watched his interviews and videos as well as connected on a visceral level to the lyrics of the songs he’s wrote. Too bad I’m not a huge celebrity star or I think we’d get on famously (with a few fights because he’d probably be so parental! — Rest of the chart folks!!) LOL
I’m generally not attracted (relationship-wise) to Cancer Sun’s (never dated one!) but I AM Very attracted to Cancer Moon’s. Perhaps ‘attracted’ is not even a good word when it comes to the Moon — I think I’d use that for the Sun. With the Moon, I feel ‘at home’. I feel ‘safe’. I feel that my ‘needs’ are being met, and that person understands just what I need to feel comfortable. They can feel me out.
I looked over my synastry of serious relationships and I noticed that…
I’ve also been very attracted to Leo (see David Bowie again) and Virgo Moon’s. Leo is also in my 7th house and Virgo is almost in there too (plus I have a Virgo Moon as well). I’ve also been attracted to Libra and Scorpio Moon’s but often nothing extra-serious and or eternally bonding came of those relationships. But I’ve never been in a serious relationship with a Cancer or a Leo Sun even!
I also found it exceedingly difficult to get over Leo and Cancer Moon exes. It was like a piece of me went with them and melancholy memories persist but have greatly faded, thankfully. Whereas the Libra, and Virgo Moon’s became good long term friends (one of them 20+ years). But I couldn’t remain friends with the Cancer and Leo Moons. I think I understand why now!! Oh, how I Love astrology.
As can be seen, the business of synastry (or finding your perfect match) is a complicated matter. Because even if you knew who your perfect fit was, you’d a) have to be exposed to that person, b) be their perfect fit, and c) know what their birth chart was — needle in a haystack! LOL
But it’s not the end of the world… we can cut ourselves some slack…
You may not find a powerful ‘conjunction’ to your DC like Moon Conjunct DC but Moon Trine or Sextile DC would work as well. So for myself, a Virgo or Taurus Moon, deposited into my 7th house, is a good fit as well. And if you’re into the Sun in the 7th energy (synastry-wise), you’ve got Sun Sextile or Trine DC to work with too!
And do remember that this is a part, and not the whole chart. The whole chart MUST be read for accuracy and clarity. And in the case of synastry, also each individual’s natal chart — so at least three charts are being read (and that doesn’t even include the progressed charts, which are very important as time goes on in the relationship.).
So…
1. What’s your Sun, Moon, Ascendant?
2. What’s your 7th house cusp and what’s in your 7th house? Does the house have another sign in it?
3. Which Sun, Moon, and Ascendant sign attracts you the most? Who have you dated? Who couldn’t you get over very easily? Who couldn’t you wait to cut loose?
Due to my Sun Leo being in the 7th, I find that I strive for and encourage equality but I like ‘fans’ or to be a ‘leader’ in my partnerships, teaching, or consulting.
But what I often find, due to my Mars being in there too — I suppose — is that I get people (clients and students) wanting to compete with me and show me that they can be just as good or better than me while disregarding what I taught and shared with them.
By the way, I am very impressed with my students and clients and if nothing else I feel that they ARE better than me. And that, to me, is a sign of good consulting and teaching BUT that’s not what I’m trying to get across. I’m not talking about the person, student, employee, or client showing me how they’ve improved or how they are getting better. It’s that they are clearly competitive, spurred on, I imagine by my Mars (and the Sun, for being so darn inspirational in the first place) in the 7th and they have a difficult time remembering or accepting that it was me who helped them improve! *ugh*
Mars (Aries) wants to go it on their own so I invite and encourage people who are like that and I’m like that too. The only difference with me is that I actually ‘do’ learn it on my own, and when I don’t, I cite sources and remember who helped me along the way. The people I invite into my life are learning from me but, as I’ve said before — they often have a hard time sharing with others (and more importantly, with themselves) that they got any education from me.
This does not apply with EVERYONE, just enough people and enough times to get me ranting. ;P
And it doesn’t just happen in astrology and tarot, it happens in EVERYTHING and that means it’s now happening in regards to my artwork. LOL I just can’t seem to get away from it unless I stop sharing what I’m doing or thinking. Grrrr … I have too much passion and I have a bad habit of sharing it. LOL
On a business / teaching level, it’s not good to incite competitive behavior as it’s hard to move forward or find success in my field, if that’s happening.
I normally teach one-on-one or to nameless, faceless people (ie, blog format) but maybe I need to teach a group so that they can be each other’s witness which will likely lead to reinforcing that they learned something ‘unique’ or ‘unusual’ from me. LOL… This stuff is funny, when looked at from another angle. Truth is stranger than fiction, that’s for sure.
Ahhh, how to stop that one?! Anyone have some advice other than hiding my knowledge until fully published and marketed? :)
Someone just told me my tagline as an occult teacher should be: “So good, you’ll think you learned it on your own.” LOL That’s bold but I may use it anyway.
Lets see… what Venus aspects haven’t I written about? I’ve written about:
But I haven’t written about Venus-Jupiter or Venus-Uranus on this blog yet. And I’ve never written about Venus-Jupiter in either of my astrology blogs.
So a little blurb on Venus-Jupiter (I have this semi-sextile).
Venus-Jupiter is about expanding money, the secret of attraction, having many opportunities for love or to love, lucky breaks or opportunities while traveling, prolific artistic expression, artistic talent, teaching partners, open minded values and traditions, a love of unfamiliar things, equality in relationships, sensual relationships, open marriages, freedom to change partners, winning love, winning art contests, winning money, expanding and sharing beauty, self-confidence in love, loving many people, having many friends, helpful friends, big, bold, and beautiful, joyful long distance travel with partners, diplomatic career, legal talent, a logical and fair disposition, one’s love life or money woes affects blood pressure, accounting talent, etc.
Add a contact (or planetary conversation) type and the ease or difficulty can be interpreted (mine is semi-sextile), along with additional details. Add the houses these planets are in (mine are 8th and 9th house) and you’ll learn where, when, and how this aspect can manifest. Add the sign that these planets are in? Well, you’ll get the style in which they carry out the mission of Venus-Jupiter (mine late degree Virgo, late degree Libra). Note what else Venus and Jupiter connects to and you’ll know what’s supporting or challenging and so on…
In a personal natal reading, I personalize your unique story – live.
For example, I’ve always been interested in art but never saw a viable full time living I could make from it. Semi-anything means ‘half the time’, as I believe ‘orbs’ are related to time (as well as physical distance and knowledge). I have a semi-sextile with Venus and Jupiter.
And recently I’d been brainstorming ‘jobs’ I’d like to do in the art industry and ‘art appraiser’ was one of them. With Virgo and Libra in the mix, that’s a perfect opportunity but it’s only semi-sextile and that means the opportunity wouldn’t always be present. Perhaps it would be a ‘part time’ job or I’d be discovered rather than having the ability to just go out there and get it since Jupiter is not aspecting my MC or AC, and my Venus is semi-square MC.
Or maybe I’d just pick up an artistic piece at an auction for very little, and find out later that it’s worth a lot. I’ve done it before. And this is where my Neptune in the 10th, North Node in the 2nd, and Part of Fortune in the 2nd comes into play!
The other possibility is becoming an ‘art buyer’ as I have Venus in the 8th — I can buy art for others.
Wondering why there’s so much possibility? Well other than being a Leo, 30/3 (numerology — 5’s are also likely to change careers often) life path, and open to possibilities and experience — if you’ve been exposed to astrology deeply (or any metaphysical or occult tool), you’ll know that human beings can experience many different things in life. You’re not ‘just’ a doctor, writer, hairstylist, carpenter, etc.
The majority of us will not have one job that will carry us through our whole life, and I’d think that would be quite boring anyway. Even if we had or have only one job title throughout our life, we use different skills, and perform different tasks within that ‘job’.
As you can see, there’s so much that changes things up when your whole chart is read with the focus point being on a particular aspect, question, or topic (chart reading trick™).
Which reminds, I am a Vocational Astrologer as well. I specialize in natal, synastry, and vocational astrology. I also studied career and work counseling for awhile but I never completed the program – maybe that’s why I keep forgetting that I have some natural talent in reading a natal chart with a vocational focus.
The Ascendant is what we see first in another.
Lets say you have Leo on the 7th house cusp and someone who interests you has Leo rising. This could tell you that Leo rising is someone whom you might want to form a commitment with and you may find them as being ‘marriage material’.
However, the one glitch with this sad story is that Leo rising has Aquarius on the 7th house and that means they tend to be on the detached side in committed relationships. They generally need and want a lot of freedom in marriage, even if they’d say otherwise at the start. In fact, because it’s the house of projections they’ll think whoever they’ve hooked up with wants a lot of freedom and that could be very well true but it’s also true of the native.
Okay, so what am I getting at?!
Unless you have an Aquarius rising, it can be a difficult fit if you wanted to get married to the Leo rising because Leo on the DC is in many ways freedom busting, warm, and would likes attachment.
So what I’m saying here… is that the ascendant is what we see on the outside, looking in. And wherever someone’s ascendant falls in our houses, that’s where we see the person at first sight and how we think they’ll fit into our lives.
But we all know there’s more to it and it doesn’t matter what we see because the rising sign often doesn’t see, accept, or fully articulate their risingness, so what you thought you were going to get — may not pan out.
If it doesn’t, the moral of the story is to remind your ‘rising’ sign partner to do their bit. Encourage them to shine naturally and don’t get peeved when they don’t or didn’t see what you saw in them at first sight. It’s just not their fault what you saw or what impact you’d thought they’d have in your life.
Confused?

Reposting with permission.
I just HAD to post this one due to Venus and Pluto taking a lead in this story! :-)
I’ve written about Kim before…
After’s yesterday’s Flower Debacle with Venus, Pluto was kinda depressed.
He was up all night, obsessing about what he should have said and what he should have done and how Venus would probably never give him a second chance, and how nobody ever wanted him around, and…well, his mood just got worse and worse, until early this morning, he decided to just End It All and defect to another Solar System. Of course, Pluto being Pluto (see “Revenge-R-Us”), before he left, he wanted to be very sure that Venus knew exactly what she’d driven him to (okay, and maybe give her a chance to beg and plead with him not to go). He crept quietly up the stairs and down the hallway toward her room…
Venus’ door was ajar, and when Pluto peeked in, he got quite a surprise. Apparently, during the night, Venus had decided to paint her room and that every wall should be a different color. (See “Gemini,” see “variety.”)
Pluto was horrified (see “Capricorn,” see “stark”), but he couldn’t tear his eyes away. He watched as Venus put the finishing touches on a spot near the ceiling, laid her paintbrush carefully across the open can on the top step and climbed down the ladder. She wiped her hands and surveyed her work and seemed quite pleased at first, but then suddenly, she stopped and frowned, hands on her hips, talking to herself. (See “Gemini” again.)
[(Oh, no…These really aren’t “Spring” colors, are they? What if they don’t match my complexion?)] (See “Queen of Vanity.”)
She reached under the plastic on her dressing table, pulled out her favorite hand-mirror and began backing up to each wall, comparing her complexion to the colors. Of course, she wasn’t looking at anything but herself (and she’s not retrograde), so she bumped right up against the open ladder. The ladder started to collapse in on itself.
The paint can teetered precariously on the top step.
Venus panicked. She struggled to hold onto her mirror with one hand and keep the ladder steady with the other, but it wasn’t working. Venus looked back and forth desperately from the mirror to the ladder, trying to decide which to let go of…
Pluto couldn’t stand it anymore. He ran into Venus’ room, grabbed her mirror and pulled her away from the ladder. The can of paint fell to the floor with a loud “plup!” and the ladder started to fall toward Venus. Pluto got under it right away and steadied it, but it took him two hands to do it and in the process, he dropped the mirror…
Venus stared at the huge green paint splatter on the floor where she’d just been standing. She looked at the broken shards of mirror. Then she looked at Pluto. She tossed him a quizzical look.
[Hwat rea *oyu* odgin eerh?]
(See “Venus inconjunct Pluto.”)Pluto had no idea what Venus said, but he read her look. He stuck his hands in his pockets and stared at the floor.
[Well, I didn’t want you to have any back luck, and you know what they say about walking under ladders and breaking mirrors, so…I figured, better I should risk seven years of bad luck than you…especially today…Aw, never mind, you don’t know what I’m talking about, anyway…See ya around, Venus…]Pluto shuffled back Downstairs and sat behind his desk, brooding. A few hours later, someone knocked at his door. It was Venus. She was smiling and holding a sleeping black kitten in her arms. She handed Pluto the kitten and a note, kissed his cheek and headed back up the stairs. Pluto shut the door, tiptoed over to his favorite easy chair and sat down, stroking the kitten until it began to purr in its sleep. He set it down gently on his lap and opened the note.
“Hi! My name is Persephone, but I like to be called “Seffy.” I enjoy long stalks, (especially at midnight), mercilessly hunting prey and operating in total darkness. My survival instincts are unsurpassed, but I firmly believe in total devotion to my One and Only.”
Happy Friday the 13th!
Thanks! You’re the best!
Love, Venus.Pluto looked down at his kitten and smiled.
[“Seffy,” huh?]Happy Friday the 13th, everybody!
You can follow Kim Rogers-Gallagher on her Facebook page to read other daily stories, and I believe you can purchase a personal natal astrology story from her as well.
I was looking at the search terms that came in today for Astrogasm and one of them was this: Prostitution 6th house matter.
Please see some astrology research. It’s interesting to note that the astrology found Capricorn (10th house), Leo (Sun), 7th house (Venus), and Venus in Virgo (6th) as showing up quite often in the 166 charts they did.
I hadn’t remembered writing anything about prostitution in the 6th so I did a Google search and came across Elsa Elsa’s board (what’s new?! The woman is the Queen of Astrology on the Internet. ;-).
Anyway, this is the question a forum member posed and I decided to answer it:
http://boards.elsaelsa.com/topic/which-house-rules-prostitution
@Mina I could totally see Venus Capricorn being a prostitute, as a profession. Why? Because Capricorn is the natural sign on the 10th house and Venus is the natural sign on the 2nd house. These are the ‘career’ houses.
Venus Capricorn has a love of money and stability [and choose ambitious lovers].
And Venus Capricorn is like Venus-Saturn. Having said that, not all Venus Capricorn, Venus-Saturn natives are or will be prostitutes nor will they fall in love with someone ‘just’ for their money. But they will be more interested in someone who is financially secure, if not wealthy, but being in-love will still be important.
I wrote a bit about prostitution and the 2nd here, http://www.astrogasm.com/2012/03/11/2nd-house-sex-money-self-worth-prostitution
Also the 6th will signify a type of prostitution as well, but more at the mercy of someone else’s choosing (perhaps working for a madam rather than being an independent) because I believe the 6th is the House of submission and in this house (the house of Vesta and Virgo) the prostitute will not be paid well or recognized. They will feel ‘used’, possibly enslaved. Whereas prostitution in the 2nd house shows a talent and ability to make money from prostituting one self.
Scorpio on the 6th could signify prostitution as well.
(Adding: Because I can see the 6th having to do with prostitution, that means the 12th is involved too but I’d like to see Venus in that house and even then…)
I’ve wrote about Venus-Pluto being more like the Dominatrix as I believe the 8th house is the House of Domination (Pluto being the natual ruler of the 8th). So if Venus-Pluto is doing any sex for money, she’s on top! ;-)
As for Venus Virgo. Unless she’s in the 6th, 8th, or has some interesting planets and/or aspect in (and to) the 2nd or 10th (such as Venus, Saturn, Mars, or Pluto), I can’t see her selling sex for money or otherwise.
(Adding: I could also see Leo on or Sun in the 2nd as far as being able to prostitute oneself for money and because the Sun can identify and express itself strongly with the values and themes of the 2nd house.
Other than that, it’s all water and earth houses showing up in my thoughts!!)
And again, just because one has this placement or signatures, doesn’t mean they will become a prostitute but there is an option, opportunity, or ability to do so.
And as with anything related to reading a natal chart or analyzing the complex life and possibilities of a human being, something can show in more than one place but the meaning is modified. So, with this example, prostitution isn’t indicated by only one signature. Many different signatures can indicate the same thing in a chart but the explanation, meaning, or experience for the native will be modified.
I <3 astrology. :D
Neptune Scorpio in the 10th: Police Sketch Artist or rather Composite Sketch Artist or maybe even a Courtroom Sketch Artist.
Oh yeah. I smell a new career coming on, maybe! LOL
Here’s one of my latest experiments in shading.
This guy is NOT a criminal (look at that smile and robust cheeks! :)
This is a recent experiment in shading and drawing realistic faces. I think I’m getting better but it’s still amateur. Nonetheless, after looking at some ‘police sketches’, it doesn’t look that far off from that work and this only took me 20 minutes to sketch and frankly I’d like to keep my sketches to no longer than 30 minutes, if possible!
Someone said Leo’s scared them after I told them that someone they might want to contact, about a language related topic, has Pluto Leo in the 9th house and would likely be able to answer their question.
My response was: Pluto Leo is even scarier — that combines Scorpio and Leo energy which are naturally square to each other. And it’s like having Sun Conjunct Pluto (often challenging, due to the natural square). That combination can mean: Powerful self, Creative depth, Destructive force, Occult leader, etc.
She shared this video and the over-the-top character (radio talk show host) seems so Pluto Leo!
By the way, I’m a Leo Sun. ;-)
Hope I don’t scare them too much!
Your astrological natal chart describes who you are. It doesn’t excuse who you are. If you or other people don’t like how you act, it’s not your chart that’s at fault.
You’ll need or want to adjust (inconjunct), smooth (trine), enhance (conjunction), harmonize (opposition), or learn how to sparkle (sextile) — some examples — if you want to lead a better life.
Well done!
This has an artsy, philosophical feel to it as well as straight facts about the house!

Here’s another Chart Reading Trick ™ *. (I’m going to go through my posts and find as many as I can so you’ll find them in one tag.)
What planet, light (Sun & Moon), Asteroid (Chiron), or Point (North Node) is most prominent for you?
I remembered this chart reading trick™ while my friend and I were arguing about something, so I decided to do it for her and I. I already knew that my Venus was at the top and Jupiter was at the bottom but the other information was interesting.
The tabulation below doesn’t include my harmonics chart. If I were to use it, I’d have more contacts for each. I might do that later and it’ll change things up a bit but Venus is still the number 1 aspected planet for me.
So here’s what the numbers below mean:
The first number is out of 9 (Sun, Moon, 7 planets), the second – out of 11 (North Node, and Chiron), and the third – out of 13 (AC & MC).
Venus 8 8 10 — so I have 8 out of a possible 9 Venus contacts for the first number and it’s still the most aspected with the third number, 10 out of 13.
Saturn 7 7 8
Pluto 6 6 7
Neptune 5 7 8
Sun 4 5 7
Mars 4 5 7
Moon 4 4 5
Mercury 3 4 6
Uranus 3 4 5
Jupiter 2 3 4
Again, Venus is the most aspected planet for me, followed by Saturn. Pluto and Neptune then come close behind that.
So upon first meeting and truly getting to know me, if you can get past ego and my talkativeness, you’ll note me as a serious Venusian type (including being plump and curvy) who is deep, sexy, mysterious, magical, artsy, loving, tough, tested, and testing. I’d fall in love with me. ;-P
My Venus is also part of a stellium in the 8th.
…
Here’s one I did for my friend…
Neptune 7 8 9
Pluto 7 8 9
Mars 7 8 8
Venus 6 8 10
Sun 6 7 9
Moon 5 6 7
Saturn 5 5 7
Mercury 5 5 6
Uranus 5 5 6
Jupiter 3 4 5
I found her to be combative where there was no need to be. I said I didn’t like fighting and she said she didn’t either but I find her communication style to be spiky (and before now, I didn’t realize she has Mercury Semi-square Venus, and that’s the only Venus contact that isn’t aspected for me natally) so I turned to astrology to get the truth!
Fact is, my friend is naturally combative (with Pluto & Mars up on high, compared to where mine are and Venus-Mercury aspected disharmoniously). I imagine her large amount of Neptune contacts makes her believe otherwise. ;-P
To be fair, she does have 10 contacts with Venus (exactly like me) when her Ascendant and Midheaven (though both are disharmoniously contacted) are taken into account. As well, the middle number is the same as the three planets above (in the table), and the first number is only off by 1. And I have Mars in the 7th, Mars on the 3rd!
So I believe my friend wants to be more harmonious in her communication but can struggle with it and struggle getting past her Neptune, Pluto, and Mars — all very tough planets to deal with. And my Saturn, Pluto (on high) are no walks in the park either.
Also, Neptune is a higher vibration of Venus. To me, there’s no wonder why we are friends (even with the occasional arguments).
Again, remember that this chart reading trick is a part and not the whole. It’s like reading a juicy paragraph in a whole book!! Or rather a series of books, on the same topic. :)
So what’s your top three?! If one of them is Jupiter, we need to talk because I have very little luck in my world and maybe your luck will rub off on me. ;P
NOTE: After writing this post, I remembered this trick has been discussed before and is officially called: Astrodynes. I even have a book about it but I haven’t read it yet. So this is already an established (but possibly little known?!) chart reading technique or what I like to call trick! Upon looking more closely at it, my method of doing it must be different from the official way because upon closer inspection there’s stuff off. Meh! Who knows… haha. At least I’ve mentioned the official way of doing it and my way of doing it — so you have some options if you want to try this trick out! :)
You can download Astrodyne software for free. They’ve renamed it Cosmodyne and the free software is called Astro123.
Astrodynes is a technique of measuring the Power, Harmony, and Discord of the Planets, Signs, and Houses. It was invented to help the astrologer to evaluate the level of energy that will be expressed by the personality of the person at birth. This will be altered by conditioning and environment and progressed planets, as the person grows older. The system is fully explained in the Astrodyne Manual and Stellar Healing books by Elbert Benjamine (C.C. Zain). You can contact the Church of Light at www.light.org. For more recent research on Astrodynes visit the Light of Egypt web site at www.lightofegypt.com, and go to the Research section. … [Astrodynes can tell you about]the most powerful planet in the native’s chart, the planet that has more contacts to all other chart points, the planet which primarily characterizes the native’s approach to life. — Astrodynes
* by the way, on the Internet — at the very least, I’ve coined the term Chart Reading Tricks as it connects to astrology.
There’s currently no reference to this phrase so here’s to a ™ because I’ll probably write a book about this one day and its title will be Chart Reading Tricks! Take note, because I am… ;D
In other words, if you see someone start using this phrase… consider whose doing it and be a friend and supporter of my work. I have the lovely Gemini on my 5th and 6th house cusps and it’s in me to be a word smith and come up with original phrases (as it may be for you too!) but I’ve been copied from often (Gemini is below the horizon, hidden).
And seriously, see that my Jupiter is at the bottom of my table — I kid you not… I need all the help I can get to succeed and not have my work ripped off of me, without credit.

As a side, I find it unfortunate that I’m writing such a blurb but it’s my karma to do so, so I’m doing it.
Thanks for your support and understanding!
UPDATE (May 6th, 2012): O-o Looks like someone else came up with it before I did. LOL … Isn’t that always the case?
And it was a Virgo too. LOL…. Soul brother?!
Here’s the link to the topic of CHART READING TRICKS…
I swear I didn’t see it before. Weird!
Okay… no more ™ … Yeah, like I said: No idea is original. LOL
Want to feel content? Look to the sign that Uranus is in.
My Uranus is in Libra. I need harmony, partnership, beauty, sweetness, delightful conversation, love, art, music, and balance to feel content.
If I have this, I 1) sleep like a baby, and 2) I smile a lot.
I generally feel very comfortable, yet intellectually stimulated, around Libra Sun’s because they don’t upset me. In fact Libra’s have a calming effect upon me.
This is also why having a Mercury-Venus contact with someone, in syanstry, is VERY important to me whereas it might not be as important for you to have. I need that because I have strong Mercury-Venus in my chart and I want, like, and need to speak my truth but, in harmony. However, with Mars in the 7th and on the 3rd, it’s a challenge with most people. So a Venus person, who is Mercurial (preferably Virgo), cancels that trouble out!
But of course, it’s not really as simple as that. There are so many moving parts in a chart. However, this is how I begin to personalize your natal chart when I read it. There’s no blog post or report that can currently do this.
So back on track — this is one reason why it’s important to have a harmonious connection between your Sun and someone else’s Uranus and vice versa. If it’s disharmonious, it causes discontent. In that vein, this also means that if you have a disharmonious Sun-Uranus contact natally, you are likely to feel discontent.
And note that (Sun) Leo is Opposite to (Uranus) Aquarius naturally, so there’s already a planetary disharmony (that can be adjusted).
Another Uranus-sign delineation?
Uranus Scorpio may need sex, secret investigations, power (em), control (self), and tarot reading (for examples) to find contentment.
What’s your Uranus in and what do you need to feel content?
One of the negative traits mentioned about Leos (by the way, the Sun is in domicile in Leo) is arrogance.
To me, there’s nothing wrong with earned and healthy arrogance. Arrogance generally comes from a learned individual, who has a set idea on how to do something best because they have the knowledge and experience that has confirmed its success — it works for them and others.
They are assertive (and sometimes aggressive) in their assertion of what is the best way of doing something, and that can tick off individuals who lack their own sense of mastery in something.
Unhealthy and unearned arrogance, to me, is something I call — ignorance.
The two words are quite similar.
Note that the only letter difference between arrogance and ignorance (other than an extra r) is i. Ignorance comes from incorrectly perceived rightness rather than actual truth. And I think it also comes from a sense of ‘i’.
When people do that and are unwilling to get their facts straight, while attempting to aggressively force their ignorant views upon others, this can be perceived as arrogance but to me, it’s not — it’s really aggressive ignorance.
Someone is ignorant when the speak upon their high horse and don’t have any experience or knowledge to back-up what they’ve said.
Perhaps this could be called aigroance because it causes a groan to witness such behavior. LOL
I was out and about today in Toronto when I realized I had not ate in awhile and needed a calorie injection.
There didn’t seem to be any food places around, to my liking, but I saw a couple walk across the street with a bubble tea and they seemed pretty happy.
So I scanned the environment and found a tea palace (my name for a tea shop). In I go and what do I find? After ordering a Taro drink, I noticed the Horoscope Drinks!! LOL Interestingly enough, the only zodiac drink on the board with taro was Capricorn and I have a Capricorn rising! Oddly, I also had Red Bean (The Libra / Capricorn drink) on my mind.
Find your horoscope drink and if you happen to be in Toronto, visit TenRen’s Tea on corner of Dundas. 454 Dundas Street West, http://www.TenRensTea.com
A number of possible educational study options for Cancer on the 9th house cusp:
This list is not exhaustive! :D
Do you have Cancer on the 9th? What did you or are you considering studying? Do you have anything in your 9th? Change of sign? How does that modify your educational pursuits?
The second house is the house of special talents (amongst other things).
It’s so cool (astrology is so cool, that is) that I have Uranus on the 2nd with Pisces intercepted and I’m both a professionally paid Astrologer & a Psychic. :)
I also have Pisces North Node and my Part of Fortune in Aquarius. I’m doing what I should be doing. *yay*
What do you have? What’s your special talent?
More on 2nd house talents.
Statistically it’s amazing how many hits a mundane post about world transits will get in comparison to regular astrology posts or how-to astrology posts. Actually, I imagine the same is true for horoscopes. This tells me, in some way, that readers would rather be delivered the goods than learn how to read their own charts.
Because I’m a natal astrologer, I’m focused on personal chart readings. This is one reason why mundane astrology or writing a horoscope column hasn’t interested me as much. But from time-to-time I get the bug to write about an astrological event, as I did below with Venus Rx.
Out goes Mercury (April 4th – April 23rd, 2012) and Mars (direct on April 14th, 2012) and in comes Venus (April 12th, shadow) to eventually smooth it all over with Mars and Mercury or is that the other way around?! ;P
This Venus and Mars may both like to think but they don’t like how each other processes and communicates their thoughts (Square).
Venus Gemini is in the shadow phase, starting on April 12th at 7° but meets with Mars Virgo for a couple of days to decide what they’re going to do next.
After Mars hammers Venus with a lengthy analysis about the problems he’s figured they have had, Venus feels confused, verbally assaulted, and overwhelmed and so they decide to take some time out and reflect upon their relationship, how they spend money, and how they enjoy love and life. Mars also wants to get some clarity on their sex life and make some future plans about the relationship.
Then on May 16th, Mars is still a little steamy over the discussion he had with Venus and he’s nattering at her but she can’t really hear him and has essentially withdrawn her love because she’s still unsure and wants more time to have an internal dialogue with her inner twin, Gemini at 23° Rx.
However, on June 28, 2012 — about a week past the shadow period ending for Mars (June 19, 2012) — Venus comes around (turns direct) at 7° Gemini but it takes her until July 31, 2012 (Gemini 23°) to get completely out from under the shadow and gain the sweetness she desires from Mars again, who at this point is in relationship and communication friendly Libra at 15°!
In the thick of the summer, all will be in harmony (trine) again with Venus and Mars in the stimulating, warm, and creative Sun of Leo (sextiling Libra, by orb and Gemini, by sign)! Hot, summer love!
And Mercury gets into the ‘love-in’ at a Leo 4° conjunction with the 8° Sun on the 31! I could go on with this love parade of the planets but I think this is enough, for now. hehe
What house will Venus enter and exit for you?
For myself, I’ll have Venus Rx, direct, and shadow phases in the 5th and 6th house. I believe I’ll be looking at bringing more art, money, cerebral play, and romance into my life. And I’ll be working out how to beautify and balance my thinking and speaking with a daily meditation and self-love practice as well as re-formulating communication tasks and the environment I do them in. I also have a good feeling I’ll begin work on the physical design (I feel this is essential) of my TarotSeek ebook and decide if I want to self-publish or work with an established publisher for Volume 1. Also, I’ll be selling some jewelry and clothing that I’ve been meaning to do for some time now. I’ve had a lot of ‘starts’ but haven’t went through with it — now is the time, I hope. And maybe I’ll record the vocals to Mad World or some singing opportunity will resurface.
And it’s been said that Venus Rx is often not a good time to get cosmetic procedures done or commit to a relationship because the results may not last or be what you wanted. This is also why it’s important to take a look at where Venus will transit and what it will aspect. One size doesn’t fit all.
Mercury Direct April 4th
Shadow period over April 23rd
Mars Direct April 14th
Shadow period over June 19th
Venus Shadow April 12th
Retrograde May 16th
Direct June 28th
Shadow July 31st
And lest I forget to mention that Pluto goes Retrograde in Capricorn on April 10th.
The great thing for astrologers is that we can find a signature in more than one place and in fact, we often want to do that as emphasis and importance is placed on duplication.
Astrologers don’t have to be perfect or know everything. Somehow, what we need to know is found in a way that works best for us.
Have you ever found someone behave like someone who undermined your self-worth and put your value down while growing up? What’s their sign on the 2nd? There’s a good chance that that person has the 2nd house sign of the Sun of the person who put you down in your youth. Is that true for you?
With Capricorn on the 2nd or Saturn in the 2nd house, natives are likely to value: Status, Symbols of Achievement, Money, Age, and Resilience (amongst other things).
This native wants to amass and hold onto wealth, would do best working in executive or leadership positions but often find themselves doing work that is beneath them. But in many ways, this is due to the native limiting opportunities for achievement and authority (out of fear of success) so they undermine themselves and often attempt to stay in their comfort-zone.
They feel most comfortable and able to stay in-love for long periods with a secret desire to dominate or control their partner and having their partner carry out their needs and interests. In fact, they might even attempt to buy attraction or love with the stuff they’ve acquired. Money can’t buy love? Saturn on or in the 2nd would likely disagree. However, its best they learn to get their own needs met, be more self-sufficient, self-managed, and earn love through merit.
In youth, people can take advantage of these natives as they tend to have money or resources tucked away and others want to make use of that. In older age (after being mistreated in this way) they can become stingy with their hard-earned money, and can feel used and unhappy if someone else (especially young people) depend on their money for sustenance.
It’s important for this native to not become cold but rather to encourage others to make their own way, with their leadership.
These natives may feel like it’s a struggle to get ahead and they can never reach their love, status, and money dreams. But the fact is, they will eventually reach their goals with time, goal-setting, and ambition. Also by letting other people help them. It’s important that they know they don’t have to go it alone and to learn to believe in the ability for other people to get the job done well or even better than the native.
Unfortunately, over time these natives can whittle away their self-esteem and get depressed if their position, what they own, or how much money they have — is seen as not enough. And they can belittle, blame, or diminish others if they feel that they got in the natives way of achieving their kind of success.
Saturn in the 2nd can indicate a native who earns a living and self-esteem through having a structured, focused, and disciplined mentality. In older age, with determined ambition and taking responsibility for their own actions, they are able to obtain all the personal wealth and status symbols that they desire.
These natives are most suited to earning a living in a solid and hierarchical industry such as big business, show-biz, government, and banking; however, if the Aquarius energy is running through their Saturn, they may work in industries that value science, technology, or teaching. They may find work very stressful as they feel they have little authority to get jobs done and save money in the way they see best.
To learn more about the 2nd house, visit my in-depth astrology blog.
Please also note, this is a small superficial blurb. I welcome your additional insights and/or corrections in the comment section, especially if you have this placement. And this delineation is based mostly on lack of awareness of the house. If the native is conscious to house themes and has been working on challenges, everything I’ve said may not or no longer be true for the 2nd house Saturn native.
And just like looking at only the eye of a person won’t tell you what the rest of their face looks like or how that eye fits in with the rest of the face, delineating a small astrological part doesn’t give the whole and necessary picture of how that part fits in with the rest of the chart.
This is why it’s important to read the whole chart and not rely on delineations like this, as the rest of the chart modifies the meaning.
Just because I fear something, it doesn’t mean I’ll ‘fall back’. Sun Conjunct Mars is like Aries: Brave, Courageous, Choosing life. I’m a fighter!
I’m setting up a new blog post that’ll contain some links to articles to read and what I learned.
This will also help me stay honest as to what I learned from others.
I normally and will still record this in private notes but doing it as a blog post, for a lot of it, is much better!
I’ll keep coming back to update this with ‘read’ and ‘to read’.
Liz Greene: Transits and Progressions
Astropost: Planetary midpoint combinations, focused on Venus
Having or had an astrogasm today?!
Mine? Well, I got to thinking: Why am I suddenly (what it seems like) so interested in art as a career? Then I thought to myself: Check your progressions! And sure enough, My progressed Venus is now Conjunct my natal MC. It’s currently applying at 1°21
Natally, I have Sun Semi-Square Venus, Venus Septile AC, and Venus Semi-square MC and the rest of my Venus contacts are Conjunct, Sextile, or Trine. The only planet not aspected to Venus natally, is Mercury.
After researching some art schools, I’m actually thinking of signing up to a special portrait course and then selling small sized portraits (5×7) packaged in keepsake containers, and focused on long-distance lovers.
I’d still like to get a degree in art history, and curation leading to the ability to buy and write about art. And I’d like to get a minor in psychology.
When I first wrote about changing directions from psychology to art back in September 2011, at that time, the orb was at 1°49.
I took a guess as to when it would be at 0° and I figured it would be about 2 years from now and on or around the day I originally wrote (September 16, 2011) about my new (or rather, conscious) interest. And on that day, it’ll be 0°11!! And that’s not all, transiting North Node will be conjunct my natal Neptune in the 10th on September 16th, 2012! And what’s also cool is that transiting Venus will conjunct my natal Sun two days later!
But December 8, 2013 is the BIG Day, when that aspect will be exact!
8 means power, wealth, and health and the whole day delineates to an 8! Jackpot. :P
I predict I’ll make my switch to an art career (while retaining all my occult, metaphysical goodness) over the next few years with a potentially very rewarding Christmas 2013, God Willing! :-)
During this time, I’ll also have…
Progressed Sun Conjunct Natal Venus
Progressed Mars Sextile Natal MC
Progressed Jupiter conjunct Natal MC Applying
Progressed Venus Sextile Ascendant
Progressed AC Trine Natal AC
But I’ll also have…
Natal Sun Square Progressed Venus
Natal Venus Square Progressed MC
It won’t be an easy ride but it’ll hopefully be a rewarding one to overcome! Natal Sun Trine Midheaven
* I’ve only mentioned what I don’t have in my natal chart and that has some significance to this pursuit.
Progressions are a great way to see what and when something is bubbling under the natal surface.
Everything in your future, is already here today.
Someone once called me intellectually dominating. When I think of that, I think of Mercury Conjunct Pluto, Pluto in or on the 3rd or 9th houses.
I don’t have any of that but I do have Mars on the 3rd house and Mercury in the 8th (Mercury Conjunct Pluto) so there’s a touch of that, for sure.
However, as much as I’m Saturnian, the most aspected planet for me is Venus and she’s aspected pretty well. She wants harmony, balance, and sweet nothings.
Mind you, the only planet she doesn’t aspect is Mercury! :P So I wasn’t born to have smooth conversations with others.
I’m pretty sure I was born to challenge judgmental, closed thoughts, and opinions. And to shake up beliefs (Jupiter Conjunct Uranus and Uranus Conjunct Pluto, by house analysis).
Here’s the thing: I imagine I come off as intellectually dominating when the other person is asserting themselves forcefully (aka arrogance) or presenting the material as a matter-of-fact about a topic they seem not to have researched or know well. If they were Venusian, in their approach, it’s unlikely I’d pull the Mercury-Mars-Pluto card.
While I respect the thoughts and opinions of others, I will often fearlessly assert my thoughts on a subject and yes, I’ll smack you down in a debate if you go there with me, I’m up for it, or I’m not injecting enough Venus into my day.
So yes, I’m smart and yes, I’ll enter into debate about things I know or have experienced so I’m not to be underestimated. And that can be frustrating for someone who seeks a lesser mind. O-o But I’ll open my ears to what I don’t know and welcome new input.
Funnily enough, the person who said I was this way has Mars in their third (Mercury Conjunct Mars), Uranus on the cusp (Mars Conjunct Uranus), and Saturn Leo in the 9th (Sun Conjunct Saturn) and my Sun and Mars is in Leo! Um…. Projection and suppression anyone?! :P
I <3 astrology. Logic, at its best!
As a side note, you’ll find many writers, and communicators (who have a stranglehold on information in their industry) have prominent Mercury-Mars-Pluto configurations. That’s because if anyone comes in with new material that goes against or doesn’t support what they’ve said, they’ll try to smack that person down.
I ♥ the Farmer’s Almanac.
I first learned of the book when I was a teen and grew up in and lived near farm country.
I’d use it to plan my summer holidays in Toronto. I always wanted those days to be sunny and bright and the Almanac never steered me wrong! Good days!
When I fist started learning in-depth astrology I didn’t know a) where to find the transits or b) what the difference was between world and personal transits, because most astrologers just say the word by itself, transits.
I’m sure if I leafed through one of the many books I purchased on astrology to find out, I would have learned right away. But I’m an autodidact and try to learn things on my own without much assistance elsewhere. I don’t like to have things handed to me on a platter but I do love to be inspired (Mercury Semi-sextile Uranus). And I like to discover ( Aries on the 3rd house cusp, with Chiron inside). And this is how I teach, by the way (Jupiter-Uranus Libra in the 9th).
So, for me, transits were not self-explanatory just by looking at them.
I can’t remember the moment I figured it out but I had pieced together what Internet friends mumbled about, along with looking for patterns in the ephemeris, and what astrologers said in their Facebook notes and in their blogs! So I figured out world transits first, and then I moved to learning about my personal transits.
I remember myself being totally like a fish out of water: Check where I have 15° Gemini?! Huh. How do I figure that out? I don’t have any Gemini signs.
Everything seemed more complex than it had to be (see my Virgo stellium).
Anyway, bottom line:
Transits are like the weather — always changing, and often having an impact on us. What we do, how we feel, etc.
World transits: These transits are what mundane astrologers write about. These are the Twitter messages, Facebook notes, and blog posts that talk about what’s happening in the cosmos (no matter where you live on Earth) and how it affects the earth and its people, plants, and animals.
These transit delineations have some affect on you but it’s your personal transits, combined with what’s going on in the skies, that have more personal impact.
World transits tend to be external, and connect to an overall vibe of a people or environment (for example). Like, have you been out and about and most people seem grumpy, sad, or happy? It may be due to the astrological weather. But because it’s external, we can sort of get away from it with skill. But other people’s vibes have a tendency to rub off on us. Like contagious laughter.
Mundane astrology is mostly used to determine world geological weather patterns, politics, and what’s happening with a large number of people (i.e. movements) because it does not include your personal natal chart. Again, it’s not generally used to tell you about what’s going to happen to you personally, because of that.
World transits are found through reading an ephemeris. You can also use a website like planet watcher.
Personal transits: These transits are what natal astrologers write about (that’d be me). These are the personal transits that you’ll often learn about in a one-on-one consultation or through buying a transit report. Some websites and blogs delineate a large number of planetary personal transits (cookbooks), and blogging astrologers often talk about their own personal transits.
Personal transits are internal and not only affect you, but affect the people around you as you interact with them — just like their personal transits affect you. Many times, there’s some karmic contact happening between your transits where astrology can explain both of your parts in the karmic interaction.
Personal transits incorporate what’s going on in the sky but it gets connected to your natal chart (and other personal charts too) which is drawn based on your month, day, year, time of birth, and location of birth. So if Sun is in Aries today and you have your natal Moon in Aries, by sign, you could have the transiting Sun Conjunct your natal Moon. Many astrologers will use abbreviations to describe this such as tr. Sun 0° na. Moon.
Natal astrology is mostly used to determine your personality, psychology, daily life, major goals and milestones, strengths, challenges, talents, joys, and things that have happened to you, are happening to you, and most likely will happen to you.
Personal transits are found through reading an ephemeris and your natal chart or reading your natal chart that selects a transit option to be overlaid and connected to your natals.
I think I’ll spend some time exploring this topic, with pictures and a how-to Screenr video, over on my VirgoVault blog. This post is getting a bit too long and pedantic for Astrogasm.

Just this minute, where I live, it’s the hour of the Sun, day of Jupiter!
I have a special treat for you.
You may or may not be familiar with the astrologer (Kim Rogers-Gallagher) but her work is an absolute delight and she’s so incredibly mentally creative.
Like Astrofix, another innovator, Kim’s astrology wisdom is something to cherish, admire, and sink your brain into.
I learned about Kim’s work from a Facebook status share that my friend Quinn did. And anything Quinn posts is worth a look-see.
Kim writes creative stories involving the planets, signs, and aspects that are currently in the skies (world transits). Her stories bring astrology to life and the stories are also a really great learning tool as they contain accurate astrological data and Geminian facts.
When teaching astrology students, I sometimes act out (astrodrama) in a similar way in how she writes her stories (but I come up with my own original oral stories to tell!). I’ve done this because a) it’s fun, b) it brings the material down to earth, c) makes it vivid and easier to understand because it gives life to the cosmos, and d) makes it more meaningful.
With Kim’s permission, I am posting one of her amazing stories…
The following story contains the following world transits for today:
Moon in Gemini, Moon Semi-Sextile Venus, Venus Taurus, Mercury Rx, Mars Rx, Moon Square Mercury, Venus Sextile Mercury, Asteroids, Baikal (heh, I probably missed something…)
Moon and Venus (see “semi-sextile”) were doing a crossword puzzle over coffee this morning when Mercury skated into the kitchen (backwards).
[Ooooh, a puzzle! I “love” puzzles! Can I help?]
Moon looked doubtful (see “Moon square Mercury”), but Venus pulled out a stool for him at the counter. (See “Venus sextile Mercury.”)
[Sure, honey! Have a seat.]Moon read off a clue.
[“Ringed planet.” Six letters. Well, that’s easy. “Saturn.”]
Mercury thought for a second.
[Actually, there are four of us with rings. Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus have rings, too.]
[Yes, but most Meres don’t know that, Mercury.]
[Well, that doesn’t mean we should keep perpetuating the rumor! Put “Uranus”
in there.]
Moon sighed.
[“Uranus” doesn’t fit. The last letter is an “n.”]
Venus leaned forward.
[Well, what does the “n” connect to, Moon?]
[It’s the last letter of four and the definition is “Zodiac Beast.” So that’s got to be “lion,” which makes the “ringed planet” Saturn. See?]
Mercury shrugged.
[“Zodiac Beast” could be crab, too, or goat, or…]Venus sat up.
[Bull!]
Mercury shook his head.
[No, really. That’s what it says, Venus. I wouldn’t lie to you.]
[No, it’s Bull! The answer is “bull!”]
[Oh, yeah, that’s right! “Bull!”]Moon tapped her pen on the counter impatiently.
[That doesn’t fit at all! That would make the last letter of the “ringed planet” an “l,” and none of you end in “l!”]
Mercury thought for a second.
[Well, what about “Baikal?”]
Moon rubbed her eyes.
[…Um….Who?]
[Baikal! He’s in the asteroid belt! The Meres found him back in ’76!]
[Does he have rings?]
[I’m not sure. I haven’t seen him in a while.]
[Well, if he doesn’t have rings, he can’t be a “ringed planet!” Besides, he’s only an asteroid!]
Mercury crossed his arms.
[Oh, so he doesn’t count because he’s “only” an asteroid? That’s not very nice! You remember when they tried to take Pluto’s Celestial Status away? He’s *still* mad about that “dwarf” thing, and I don’t blame him! It’s bad enough being small without somebody calling attention to it!]Moon rolled her eyes.
[Okay, let’s try another one. “Inflicts serious harm upon.” Four letters.]
Mercury stuck his hand up.
[Oooh! Oooh! I know! Rams! That would seriously hurt you!]
[Doesn’t fit. Look, it’s “mars.”]
Mercury looked around.
[Mars is here? Where?]Moon closed her eyes very, very tightly and counted to ten.
[No, Mercury, I meant “mars,” as in to “mar” something.]
Venus pointed to the grid.
[Well, what’s the down word? Does it end in “m” or “r?”]
Moon pointed to the clue.
[It’s “Sign of spring,” and it’s six letters.]
Mercury jumped right in.
[“Shower!” A spring shower!]
Moon shook her head.
[I think they’re talking about one of “the signs,” Mercury. One of “our” signs…]
[Oh, I get it! Well, that’s easy! “Taurus.”]
Venus squeezed his arm affectionately.Moon shook her head.
[Can’t be. The second letter is an “e.” It’s got to be “Gemini.”]
Venus looked hurt.
[Why can’t it be Taurus? You know, you might be a little biased with that answer, Moon.]
[No, I’m not! The second letter is an “e” because the answer that fits with that “E” is SIX letters and it’s about an ASPECT, and the answer is “SQUARE!”]Mercury wrinkled up his brow.
[Why does it have to be “square?” Why can’t it be “sextile?”]
[BECAUSE IT’S SIX LETTERS! SIX!!! NOT SEVEN!!!!!!]
Mercury nodded.
[Oh, right. Sorry….Well, maybe it’s “trines.” That would fit…]
[It’S NOT “Trines” because it’s NOT PLURAL! IT’S *ONE* ASPECT, NOT A TON OF THEM, AND IT’S ***SIX*** LETTERS, AND IT ENDS IN “E!!!” GET IT?]
[Well, what’s the definition?]Moon threw down her pen and clenched her hands into fists.
[The DEFINITION is “ASPECT OF STRESS AND IRRITATION” and the ANSWER is SQUARE!!!]
Mercury considered.
[Well, maybe it’s “rashes.” Sometimes I get rashes when I’m stressed…][Oh, FOR…..AAAAAARGH!!!!!!]
Moon stomped out of the room.Mercury looked at Venus.
[What’s up with her?]
Venus shrugged.
[Beats me. She was fine before you got here. Too much coffee, probably…Hey, you want breakfast? I’ll cook…]
[Great!](See “Moon in Gemini square Mercury in Pisces.” See “Venus sextile Mercury.”)
What’s also incredible is that Kim is prolific in her astrological story-telling. I believe she does two stories a day! Another soul-sister, for sure.
You can follow Kim Rogers-Gallagher on her Facebook page and I believe you can purchase a personal natal astrology story from her as well.
Neptune moved into Pisces on February 4th, 2012.
Quotes from Stephan Bollinger
I think modelling is magical and the end result is often glamourous but hopeful models may get sucked into the illusion of it being an easy or glamourous job — which it is not.
